Great patterns/Needs more how-to
This book provides a lot of patterns based on different Native American tribal designs. I also like that they suggest bead colors as I am a beginner and a little color challenged. The book discusses bead weaving (using a loom) and applique beading (on fabric), but if you're a beginner you'll probably have to look on YouTube for more info. I think this is more of a pattern/design book than a how-to bead book. I am actually to try to use these patterns for embroidery, which I think is also doable. The first part of the book presents designs for bead weaving and the second part presents designs for applique beading. The bead weaving patterns are smaller than those in the author's book North American Indian Beadwork Patterns North American Indian Beadwork Patterns and in this book there are frequently multiple patterns per page. The applique beading patters are pretty much the same size as in that book. There is no table of contents or index, so if you're looking for designs from or inspired by a particular tribe you have to page through the book. Here's a list of tribes covered. I've tried to be as accurate as possible but provide no guarantee to accuracy. The tribe names are those as printed in the book. Note that the designs for a specific tribe aren't covered in consecutive pages, and for example you may find Sioux designs on pages 4, 8, 11, 30, etc. The number in parentheses indicates the number of patterns/designs.Bead Weaving Patterns* Arapaho (1)* Arikara (1)* Blackfoot (2)* Chippewa (3* Crow (4)* Dakota Sioux (1)* Delaware (1)* Iroquois (2)* Kickapoo (1)* Osage (2)* Pawnee (1)* Potawatomi (1)* Sauk and Fox (4)* Seminole (2)* Shashoni (1)* Sioux (5)* Woodland (7)* Winnebago (10)Applique Beading Patterns* Algonquian (1)* Blackfoot (2)* Chippewa (7)* Crow (1)* Delaware (1)* Nez Perce (4)* Ojibwa (3)* Woodland (2)

What lovely designs
This book not only has a lot of information, but it also has some wonderful designs. I have not had an opportunity to work on any of the patterns yet, but I am anxious to begin.

Nice patterns to look at
This book to me wasn't what I was hooping for but it's still nice to have. Haven't used it for anything but only to look in every now and then. I think it's because the patterns don't speak to me.

Very pleased with the instructions in this book
Very pleased with the instructions in this book. I have been beading for years just have never done this type and I am enjoying doing the projects that interest me. I plan to share a project with the children at an after school program. They will enjoy having something they have made themselves.
