These filters always work well especially the cotton wand to get the sugar Sand out!!

This worked well. I used 2 long wooden spoons to hold the filters up. I found that when filtering the finished syrup, the filters basically stop functioning after a half gallon. So buy multiple filters or finish off your syrup in small batches and clean filter in between.

This is the first year my husband's maple syrup production did not have grit laying in the bottom of the bottle. He's very pleased with this product!

Filter syrup

Works well for filtering syrup! I used a paper filter for intermediate stages of boiling. Used both paper and felt for final boil. If you have a lot of niter it will filter slowly. I used a chopstick to stir things up in the filter and that helped get it moving again. Be sure to filter when syrup is hot!if you have a lot of niter, you won't have clear syrup without a good filter, so it is well worth the effort. I like how it's nice and small, fits in a regular jelly stand for a home set up.Have rinsed the paper filter many times and while it's decidedly thinner but it's still working well.

Does OK i guess. You are better off just using coffee filters and filtering when still watery (starting to approach syrup) and living with the sugar sand.I get better clarity using coffee filters then this product so I am not impressed.Also, you can expect to lose 200-250mL per Litre of syrup in the final filter. That is a full small Mason/Ball jar. Not recoverable.Not worth it for the price compared to coffee filters!! LOL. Sugar sand is delicious anyways.

This product came at the perfect time for maple syrup season. It improved our production emminsely.

Filter kit arrived earlier than expected. Does an excellent job. I think it was overpriced considering it just a sewed felt cone and a couple of paper filters. Will be looking for a better deal in future.
