Worth the price
I bought this one to replace the one I had, which is made of hard plastic, as the plastic one started to breakdown when I was using it to hammer down the tent stakes on very hard surface. I am aware this one is more expensive than others, but this one is balanced well as it is head heavy, and does not require much force to create downforce to hammer down stakes even if the ground is hard. It works well and worth the price.

Great for camping
Wanted a light, compact hammer for tent camping. This fit the bill perfectly. Drove a couple of stakes right through rocks and made removal a breeze. I still don't think I would take it backpacking, but it's much appreciated when lugging your supplies to a campsite.

You’re not here for justification - just buy it
Listen. If you’re shopping for a $45 tent stake hammer, you’re the kind of person with money to burn.Is this the most practical way to burn it? No.Is this thing absolutely sweet to use? Sure is.Does it feel good in hand? Oh yeah.Is it necessary? No, you can spend 1/4 the price at the Deep(-ot) and get a perfectly respectable hammer. But you’re not here for that.Totally worth it. Be extra, just like you know you want to be.

Doubles as weapon and pick/shovel
I'm not even joking. I always sleep better knowing this thing is right by me at night next to my bear spray when sleeping outside in questionable or really remote places. The weight of this thing and that claw could do some serious damage if it ever came to it. Plus, this hammer is weighted as well as how I imagine a small mace would be in older times. The handle and size make for a perfect fit attached to my adventure belt on my hip (sort of like bike messengers who carry their U locks the same way).Plus I feel better carrying my weapon with me when I am the most vulnerable (relieving myself). When nature calls I can take it with me to help dig *that* hole that is required. I imagine I'm reducing the life of this hammer by using the claw as a rudimentary pick and shovel, but it works and is one less thing to worry about. Hell, if I'm going to carry that weight around might as well put it to good use.

A bit Pricey but a well designed and effective product
This is an excellent tent peg hammer - light weight, and well built. Worked well for driving 8" forged steel tent pegs into rocky soil. The light weight also means that it takes some serious muscle to drive these types of pegs so I would have liked to have a more weighted head on the hammer. The head did suffer some dings from these pegs but nothing troublesome. I would have liked a longer and more durable lanyard that could double as a stake puller.

Would not be without
This works great for camping. It has many uses, other than pounding in tent stakes. It is much lighter than a regularhammer and packs easy.
