The older the better. Absolutely don't buy that little bag of stuff ...
I can't wait for the Amazon.com movie to come out: "Pallet Busters". What a wild ride that will be. This is an incredible tool for bustin' up pallets without out damaging a single hair on their heads. I'll never pay for old barn wood again. After a light sanding, rub on your stain of choice, let it sit for 30 secs. then wipe ip off with an old tee-shirt your tired of wearing. Let it dry outside and then brush on some clear Polyurethane clear finish. What you have left is ready to be installed as molding, covering plaster beams, used for making furniture, cabinets, you name it, what ever the wife wants. And get this, the shipping is FREE. Yes, Free. I don't know how Amazon.com can afford to ship this behemoth of a tool for free, but He does. Look for ads in the paper, Craig's list for FREE pallets. Don't pay 3 or 5 bucks for them when you can get them for FREE. Try feed stores, (Lemo's) lumber yards, construction sites, anywhere you see stacked up pallets just sittin' ion the sun, waitin' to die.The older the better. Absolutely don't buy that little bag of stuff at ACE hdwe. they sell for $17.00 that they claim will make new wood look old. It don't work and you still have to wait weeks to see that it don't work. Wan't free 2" x 4" for your DIY projects, rip up a few pallets and you will end up with more than you can use. Just watch those rusty nails, don't step on them with your bare feet, no tellin' where they been. Watch where you park the truck when your bustin' apart them pallets. I used to bust them apart by hand -- tough job, lots of the best boards break, splinter, split but now, there's not a wasted piece. Only problem is . . . I have saved so much time . . the wife is dreamin' up pallet projects faster than I can make them. Oh, and if your'e older than dirt, like me, you'll save your back from going out with this tool. Another warning, don't loan this to your neighbors or friends, because you'll never see it again.Don't buy the gadget they sell with no handle, not worth the effort tryin' to find a solid handle that fits properly and then you still have to paint it to match. I sell the darn stuff now cuz' I got so much stacked up against the barn. Those city slickers that are no good at DIY projects pay me for my busted up pallets. I charge $1.50 for a complete pallet disassembled with perfection or they can buy the wood, all stained, clear coated and ready to use for $5.00 a board. Can't seem to keep the stuff in stock. Now, that's all free cash to use as I see free to, just don't tell the wife I got this little business goin' on the side or she'll want a cut of the action. Bye now, happy pallet bustin".

Easily bent product. DO NOT BUY
Wow. Just wow. I was so excited for this to arrive, and amazon got it to me a day early. Thank you Amazon! The product, however, is either absolute garbage, or i got a faulty weak one. The handle bent at the base where it meets the claw. FIRST PALLET beat the new tool. Its a simple leverage tool, however its not built well. The handle came in 3 separate pieces, that all are secured by a nut and bolt, I imagine for easier shipping, and it connects to the claw with a pin. For almost $40 I basically got a weak metal 3 piece bar and a claw. The claw is probably fine, but without the handle, its a paperweight. Super angry with the product and 100% recommend NO ONE else waste your money on this. I'm 140lbs my weight and strength should not have caused this tool to fail without even finishing the first pallet. Pure garbage.

This is really a great tool to have if you do pallet projects
This is really a great tool to have if you do pallet projects. I've used mine for a couple of months now and really like it. It does a very good job of breaking apart pallets easily with little waste. Keep in mind that your success depends on the quality of your pallets. I've been able to break apart old and new pallets with ease. There is some loss but mainly do to the condition and how the pallets are assembled. Quality pallets come apart intact while some new pallets are assembled in such a way that the nails are forced so far into the pieces of wood that when you pull them apart the nails sometimes pull through the wood. Sometimes you're able to pull these apart and not loose boards and sometimes you simply create a little firewood. All in all a very good heavy duty puller. Construction is definitely "HEAVY DUTY". Like I've said, I've had if for only a few months but it is STURDY!!Very high quality, I would recommend it to anyone/everyone who wants to break apart pallets quick and relatively easily.

Take-Apart
Pallet breaker YES - Heavy Duty Industrial???? Not so much.I had an issue with the 'head' first time out, literally the first pallet I used it on, which progressively got worse (forks on one side bent/opened up and once that happens there's no coming back from it). I DID contact the seller who immediately send a new 'head' as replacement. 2nd one works fine, however I now know what I can and can't use it on. Some pallets are really put together HD Industrial like, this is NOT the pallet breaker for those kind.ON THE PLUS SIDE - It really is very simple to use and only takes 5 minutes to dis-assemble a pallet once you get the hang of it. The time consuming part is getting out all the nails from the boards.

Kudos to the engineer/designer of this great tool. I am a 36 year veteran of the remodeling industry and have a fairly large collection of tools. This pry bar is among the best designed I have ever had the pleasure of using. I just finished the demo of over 1300' linear feet of 5/4 x 6 pressure treated decking and this tool either pulled the (three 2-1/2" per joist) deck screws right through the lumber, pulled them out of the joists, and/or snapped them off. I'm not saying it wasn't a fight but the alternative battle with any of the other half dozen or so types of pry bars I own would have been a nightmare. Awesome value for the price and the labor it can save. The pivoting feature of the (feet) really helps in tight spots. The only thing I would suggest on an improvement would be to lengthen the handle to around 60 -65". Great product!
