Dorman 936-250 Driveshaft Assembly

Decided on this Dorman driveshaft as a mid-range option. There are "no name" driveshafts available for about $50 less, and there are higher end options available from some of the big name Miata aftermarket shops. Thought I would try this one, since it has what looks like the same replaceable U-joints as the more expensive options. Even though this Dorman is slightly fatter and heavier than stock, it was a perfect fit on my 1991 Miata. I have an aftermarket stainless exhaust (Made by Thermal, very similar to Flyin' Miata's stainless exhaust with resonator) and I had to remove the exhaust hanger so I could swing the exhaust just slightly out of the way when swapping out. It slid into place perfectly on both ends. My pictures show a closeup of the replaceable U-joint, and the fit and clearance at either end once installed. I've had the car up to 60mph so far, and it feels great.

A breeze to install. Perfect fit and appears to be high quality in all respects.

I was a bit worried that it was not going to be compatible with my NA6, but once it was installed my car ran so much smoother.

0 vibration 100% better than the one I took out after 300k miles. Had it up to 85 so far and its smooth as can be. Super easy to install and the quality is right up there with oem.
