Reef Octopus VarioS 8 Controllable Circulation Pump

Very powerful pump and not noisy. Had it for over two years now without any issues. It's kinda expensive but worth it.

Arrived and it didn’t work

In 5 years of reef keeping this is the best pump I have ever owned. I have a 240G 6ft, dual overflow tank. I used to stick to the Rio and or Mag series but was always annoyed by how loud my office was because of them.I recently upgraded to the new Apex controller and decided it was time to goto a controllable pump as well as eliminated the noise pollution in my office.This pump is literally dead silent. The only sound you hear is the water coming from my return lines.I have this pump running at 60% and it's plenty of flow for my 240g.

Couldn't be happier with the purchase of this pump, absolutely whisper quiet, very strong, running on a custom 160 gal tank, I ran it to a 1 1/4" T (which is the size of the output) then reduced each to 3/4" to dual returns up through the center trap overflow. Height of the return flow outputs is approximately 68", the flow is strong and is only on the number 2 setting at this point. Only been set up for a week and everything is great, will update if anything changes.

Awesome little pump had it for 9 months now still quite like the day I bought it very powerful have not had 1 issue I would recommend this pump to any one I have it on a 340 gal tank

Defective failed after a week

I install this setup on my 240g predator tank and it is awesome. Definitely moves the water and is super silent. Really like the control ability from the controller which mounts nicely in my cabinet with the provided mounting bracket. Very happy with the purchase and will use these pumps on my next upgrade.

The media could not be loaded. I wish I could give this less than 1 star. I purchased the pump in august 2017 and it worked fine for 2 months. I was happy with it. Then one day it started making a really loud sound - even when I ran it at low speeds. I contacted CoralVue and they basically blamed it on my plumbing, they said the pump was designed to work with 1 1/4 inch plumbing and because I was using 3/4 inch plumbing it was my fault.The options I got were to upgrade my plumbing or create a bleed line in my sump (which I already have)Coralvue support was not helpful at all. I would not recommend any of their products.the video attached was of me running the pump at maybe 30 or 40% and it was still making a ton of noise. It was dead silent the first 2 months I owned it.
