can it be used on fresh non boiled eggs?

Although the egg topper is not intended to be used on fresh non boiled eggs, some customers do use it for this purpose. However, our advice is to do it over the sink or some bowl because some of the egg may spill over.

Indeed you can use it with uncooked eggs; I suggest to do it over the sink as leeks sa little egg white. I doo it regularly. Nice little device.

Is this worth buying for making it easier to peel hard boiled eggs?

The egg topper is intended for removing the top of the soft boiled egg. It will remove the top of hard-boiled egg as well. However, some egg white may remain attached to the removed egg cap and this is not ideal when peeling hard-boiled eggs. Therefore, we do not recommend using the egg topper for peeling hard-boiled eggs.
