Exciting and Addictive!
“Pro tips:”1. I bought a set of 150 Prisimacolor colored pencils and I doubt these challenges could be completed with anything less. There is a wide spectrum in the color keys and even with 150 pencils it was often difficult to match the shade.2. Check the thumbnails before selecting your pencils for each project. Some might call this “cheating” but it reality it helps to choose distinct shades that will enhance the integrity of the image.3. Challenges with blank white space between each colored shape (EXS: parrot, owl, crab) are much easier to color and the images are obviously identifiable in the end. The challenges with identical repeating geometric shapes (EXS: penguins, snail, flamingos) are much more difficult because you can’t incorporate important artistic distinctions without first identifying lines between the colors that are intentionally “hidden.”TAKEAWAY. These challenges were fun and relaxing, colorful and diverse and extremely addicting. I ordered the City Scapes edition as soon as I finished Color Quest.

Loads of coloring fun - satisfied purchase
5 out of 5 stars - I love it. Basically a Paint-By-Numbers book. Great paper quality, nice and heavy. When coloring with ink, it does not bleed through. The pages are perforated so once you're done coloring a page it can be torn out and framed (if you should so choose). The pages/images are complex and will provide for hours of coloring. One thing I didn't realize (more like, didn't pay attention to the specs) was the size of the book. Thought it'd be a typical 8x11 size coloring book, but it's larger, more like 11x17. Not a con for me, but the size makes it a little tricker to pack or transport.

Overall a fun book that can keep you busy for a while
This book has a bunch of pages to color. I only colored a few pages, but from just those few pages, it does seem to take time to color it in. I should say it could take 1 to a couple of days to finish one page unless you work on it constantly with no breaks. I do think it's a fun book, and after you finish coloring it, you can see how it turns out and what it's suppose to be.

Fantastic Color-By-Number Experience
We saw another version of this book in Michaels and would have purchased it, but of course, Amazon had a better price. This is the NEATEST coloring book. Most of the pages you can't tell what the animal is until you start coloring in the spaces. There's a color legend on each page which gives you an opportunity to match their suggested colors, or use your own. large, thick pages. My daughter and I are so happy with this purchase! You will be too!

Amazing Books!
As a amateur colorist since a couple years before the adult coloring “phenomena” hit a few years ago, I’ve really come to love these few Color Quest books! Even those the so called craze has died down, I sure hope Mr. Woodcock and the publisher keep making them!I’ll start by saying—these are definitely not for everyone. They’re time consuming and some would call tedious. Despite that, I adore them! The final products look amazing, especially once you learn to make your own tweaks with colors and technique. Here are a few tips that might help some folks out:-With the color by number books, it definitely is a bummer to see numbers in your finished product. I’ve tried everything from erasing to using a tiny dab of white acrylic paint, etc. Nothing works great, so what I generally do is try to substitute from deeper, darker colors. I plan out my colors before I start a piece and mark notes in the left margin by the suggested colors. I realize that the publishers need to weigh how dark to make the numbers with how easily most people can see them.-I believe the pictures look better when you outline with a sharp point before filling in. I outline, sometimes very lightly, with Prisma Verithins , Prisma Scholars, and Prisma Col-erase. I fill in with a variety-from Prisma Prisma Premiers (but the softness ugh), Polychromos, anything really. The pieces def look better with the most opaque pencils possible, whether that’s from a heavy hand or layering. I have used pens, but my preference is pencil for almost everything I do.-If I’m finding a piece sort of monotonous-I’ll outline for a while, switch colors, or even take a break to do an easier picture. It’s pretty cool once your pic comes together though!-This last point is a plea to Barron’s, John Woodcock, etc. PLEASE make more of the mosaic style pieces, with the white in between. The final product looks SO much better and for obviously take s a bit less time to complete with less to color. I do both styles but the mosaics are killer! I think they’ve figured that out, because the last buildings book has many more mosaics. I would love all of these animals pics to be mosaics!Overall, really love the Color Quest books. Sadly, I’m not impressed with “coloring quest” similar looking books. There’s just no comparison. If you’re an adult or teen colorist who loves a challenge, give them a try!

Very fun and exciting
I am a big fan of this coloring series! I love how, on most of the pages, you have no idea what you are coloring until after you follow the color-by-number key and make progress. The mosaic picture are also a lot of fun and really pop once color is added. The finished pictures look great. Also, the price cannot be beat. The book is oversized (so don’t expect to fit it in a backpack or on your lap) and there are 30 big pictures to color (each of which will take hours!). Highly recommended as a great investment of fun over time.

This book is even better than the first one in the series!
This is the second book in the Color Quest series, and it is fantastic! It's even better than the first book which I was completely in love with. I cannot say enough good things about this newest addition. My only complaint is that I wish there were more books like this to purchase (hint, hint). The pages are gigantic, and the paper is heavy weight and of good quality so that the ink does not bleed through to the other pages behind it. Perforated pages make it easy to share with a friend or take a page on-the-go. The variety of the pictures help to keep this book interesting from start to finish, and with 30 large pictures to color, this book will last you a long time. I highly recommend this book!Note: I have included some completed pictures to give you an idea of what types of images you can expect.
