This prism is of high quality and casts a nice rainbow in the sun. I had one when I was a kid and I dont remember it being this nice.

This is a high-quality prism that works beautifully in full sunlight to splay out the band of spectral colors.

It'a a nice prism that definitely works if you take this into account: - Sunlight is the best light to test with. - It is not that easy, you don't just put it in the light and it gives a rainbow. I have made many rainbows, but they are small, not as seen in other pictures. There is only 1 way you get the big rainbow, if you play a little with the sunlight. It takes time and a good angle. Otherwise the rainbow is minimal, but it definitely works. But the really cool thing I am obsessed by is when you look through it. When you look through the prism, which is a lot easier than positioning it in sunlight, you clearly see the rainbow pattern in all light sources. I've attached a picture where I look at the window. The windows is taped of for the effect. You can look at everything to see where light is reflected. Really cool, decent price and you see what Newton saw.

Forget what others say about the prism, they have NO idea how to use it. It works just fine and creates a beautiful rainbow. Place it in a narrow steam of sunlight (morning or afternoon is easiest), flat side perpendicular to the light, turn on its axis and you will see a rainbow on a shadowed surface.

I use this Amlong 6-inch optical glass triangular prism for photography, and it lets me create some really cool in-camera effects. The only thing is the sun needs to be out for the best results, but when it is, the light refractions are amazing. A fun, creative tool for photographers looking to experiment with unique shots.

Lovely well made, high quality prisim. I have located it in my kitchen window and at certain times of the day, usually late afternoon, the sun hits it and creates a small rainbow in my kitchen. I have to search for it because it does not always appear where you think it might be. It has been fun for my granddaughter and me to look for it. That is the reason I bought it and I am pleased with the results even if they are a challenge to find!!! Elizabeth

Be aware the corners are very pointy and edges almost a bit sharp though. For photography it needs to be kept away from other gear it might scratch, as a result I don't often find myself packing it as much as I'd like
