AV to HDMI,Yxflz 1080P AV and Audio to Video Converter Box Adapter for HDTVs, Monitors/Displays, Laptop Desktop Computer (white1) (AV to HDMI)

I needed this to connect older RCA output DVD player to a newer TV with HDMI inputs only. So, the one I have goes out from the DVD RCA output and in, to the HDMI on the TV. Works for other items such as video cameras, playstation, etc. The description of this item is confusing, but, the clarify, it converts the older RCA output to TV or monitor HDMI input.

I really liked the functionality of it. It was in very good working condition when received. Works very well for newer tv's that don't have the AV inputs that I need to run items like an SNES. I do wish it had a backward compatibility to convert an HDMI to an AV.

I was totally Leary about this as I ave read bad reviews of these cheap converts. I thought for the price why not check it out. I was total amazed of how this transformed the picture from my Sega Saturn on my LCD TV. If you don't want to splurge for a RGB Scart Cable and adapter this is your best bet. It's probably a crap shoot concerning Q&A but if it works then you will be in business.

This converter does not maintain the 4:3 aspect ratio of the input 480i AV signal. It automatically stretches the signal to the 16:9 aspect ratio of the output 720p or 1080p HDMI signal. Because of this, the picture is all stretched and fat looking and there is nothing the TV can do to correct it. The converter should instead letter-box the picture (black bars on the sides) so that it still looks correct, and this allows the TV to be used to stretch the picture if you actually want the ugly fat picture instead of the side bars. I will be returning this item.

the only reason it gets 2 stars is it did convert to HDMI, But it had a picture worse than a TV back in the 70s. Maybe I expected too much. the picture with coaxial is better.

This device is just okay. For some of my son's games (primarily NES), there are two lines displayed from top to bottom of the screen with some mirroring occurring of the picture (the game displays perfect if not using the conversion box). For most conversions, it works fine but he was mainly interested in using this device for his games, and it isn't 100% clean with regards to the conversion and thus, produces anomalies on the screen for some of the games. He is disappointed in the performance for these reasons.

This works great for my gamecube and whatnot. I didn't think playing Gamecube games in 1080 hd was this good. Crisp clear graphics for almost every game i've tried with it and even dark games like Luigi's Mansion become brighter. I haven't tried all the games i have with it yet but the Ps3 i have works with it too and is great for watching movies. All in all this Hdmi converter is great for anyone

My new Insignia TV has the standard AV hookup, but it cutoff the bottom of my N64. I'm so glad I purchased this device!Simply hooked it up to another HDMI port and the video and audio quality is outstanding! This is perfect for any retro gamer!
