Perfect for Those with Fragrance Allergies, ACD & Eczema
I have a fragrance contact allergy to linalool which means that I cannot use anything with natural or artificial fragrance. No botanical oils or extracts at all. In addition, certain chemicals are considered cross reactors and therefore I have to avoid those as well. Add to that my vitamin E (tocopherol) contact allergy and finding a deodorant that is safe for me and actually works is near impossible. I couldn't use the original unscented cream stick deodorant because while labeled unscented, it's not actually considered fragrance free due to the aloe leaf juice, isoamyl laurate, lauryl alcohol, sodium benzoate and cocoa butter. Plus it has vitamin E in it. I use the SkinSafe app to find products that are safe for me per my Mayo Clinic dermatologist. I have tried every safe deodorant and none have worked. Some caused rash despite saying they are safe, but most just don't work. They may for a couple hours then they stop. Another thing to consider is will it leave white marks or stain clothing (oil stains can be really hard to remove). The Lume Unscented/fragrance free solid deodorant recently appeared on my safe list and I jumped to try it. First I want to address the smell because I see people complaining about it smelling like all kinds of weird things such as vinegar, mildew, urine, etc. THIS PRODUCT SMELLS NOTHING LIKE ANY OF THOSE THINGS! Please do not be scared off by those reviews. I have a keen sense of smell since I live a fragrance free life so nothing is dulling my senses. The unscented solid has a light smell which is a result of the raw ingredients in it. The whole point in making a product that is free of scents (including masking fragrances) is to have a product free of both natural and artificial fragrance. When you do that, the natural smells of the ingredients will come through, though they are never strong and don't really linger. This product's ingredients give it a smell that is like a mix of citronella and calamine but not as strong as either one. I can smell it if I put my nose up to it or if I sniff my armpits within an hour of application, but that's it, and after that it just fades away. It is not a bad or offensive smell (much better than BO) even if it's not a scent someone with the luxury of using fragrance would choose. For people like me, it's beautiful because it's safe. I don't get to choose what anything smells like. My conditioner smells like cooking oil, my soap smells like glycerin and and my hair gel smells like plastic and vinegar. I couldn't care less. All that matters to me is that it is safe and will not cause terrible, itchy, oozing rashes that take months and a lot of prescriptions to clear, and that it serves it's purpose. I'm grateful to Lume for creating a product for me and the millions of people like me. On to performance! Day one I applied only 1-2 swipes per arm as instructed but I did start to smell some faint BO after a couple of hours in the 106 degree AZ heat. The next day I washed it off and applied 3 swipes per arm. I went all day without smelling anything. When I got up the next day I could smell light BO if I put my nose to my armpit which is fine. It says it eliminates odor all day (that's one day) and controls odor for 72 hours (meaning it will lessen the odor on days 2 & 3 but not eliminate it) so it did what it said it would do. I've been using it for two weeks now and have not had any adverse reactions. I will update if I do. I am happy that it works and I haven't seen marks on my clothes, it feels nice and smooth going on and doesn't feel wet or sticky after it rubs in. I highly recommend it if you truly need a product free of artificial and natural fragrance.

Best deodorant I've ever used
This review is for the unscented solid stick. It is by far the most effective deodorant I've ever used. I'm an active male. Compared to other deodorants I've used, using a 1 to 10 scale of effectiveness: - Mineral crystal unscented deodorant (either roll on or solid crystal) : 3/10 not very effective - Toms natural deodorants: 4/10 not very effective - Traditional store bought scented deodorants : 6/10 they work ok but I hate the scents, some give me a rash - Schmidt's natural unscented deodorant: 7/10, works well, but is oil based and leaves terrible stains on clothes, lots of residue, doesn't wash off. - Lume unscented stick: 9/10 Amazing. Can go a whole day including gym and sweat and still almost no odor at the end of the day. Nothing else has ever worked this well. Other factors: Lume seems to be water based, washes off easily in the shower, doesn't stain clothes, doesn't leave caked on residue. The unscented version does have a faint smell from the ingredients used. Its hard to describe, kind of like plastic and candle wax. It doesn't smell good or bad, just different. Yes it is expensive but it is worth it to me. (seems to be slightly cheaper on Lume's website than Amazon...)

Love Lume but not the powder scent
This body deodorant does keep you dry all day but it was the scent I didn't like. I normally buy the unscented one so I guess I need to go back to the unscented. I love Lume because it keeps me nice and fresh all day.

Works amazing, scent is a little odd
So I purposely bought the unscented version because I can have some sensitivity to scents. I will say the product itself works amazing and has truly changed the game with sweating on my inner thighs for me. There is a slight scent though that’s not a artificial scent, but probably just the smell of the ingredients. I honestly can’t describe what it is but it isn’t particularly pleasant. It’s not gross or anything but it’s definitely not lacking in smell. Just keep that in mind. If you’re someone who isn’t cautious about sense, you may wanna get one of the scented ones because this one is a little odd. I will, however be sticking with it and probably re-purchase the same one, because it really does the trick.

Maybe not for those with sensitive skin
The first time I applied this, It worked great. The second time, I got a bad contact reaction in both armpits. Nine days later, I still have contact dermatitis. My doctor prescribed me a Medrol dose pack, but it didn't help. I tried the unscented version.

Unscented is not an accurate description
I bought several of the “unscented” variety. They are not “unscented” - the name should be more like “Baby Wipe” scent. As far as smell the stick of deodorant isn’t terrible but mine was messed up. When I pulled the tab out that covers the actual deodorant the tab pulled a big chunk of the deodorant with it. Not cool - I was able to push it back down and it kind of works but really not a good first impression. The wipes are the least offensive item out of the bunch - smell is fine and over all not a bad product as far as I can tell.. Since this listing is the stick of deodorant I won’t be as harsh on the rating but man let’s talk about the cream - it smells god awful. Imagine taking a normal unscented baby wipe and then using it on someone’s sweaty grungy booty crack and then you take a whiff of it. That’s what the cream smells like. Baby wipe at first then a weird sweaty booty grunge tinge after. The cream may work but I haven’t tried it yet. I did try the “Lavender Sage” scented cream that I got from a local Target and it seemed to work - but they both smell terrible. Every scented cream they have is the same - at first you smell the advertised scent but then you get a punch in the face with whatever chemicals they put in it to fight odor and my goodness does it smell bad. I don’t really get why though, the deodorant stick doesn’t have that bad smell in it. They should really take a look at the mixture and try to work that issue out.

Love this stuff
Love that it’s a solid stick that glides on smoothly. No smell- it’s truly fragrance free! Lasts allllll day! No aluminum or gluten! Win. Win. Win! Update: I do notice now that I’ve been using it for a few weeks that it’s not as effective as when I first started. I don’t know that I’m doing anything different. Maybe my body just is able to adapt to the ingredients so that they are less effective? I’ll keep using it but I’m having to apply it more often.

The worst deo I have ever tried. I threw it in the trash. Money wasted.
It is not unscented. It smells like a chemical nightmare. I tried it once and washed it off after a couple hours and went back to my prior deo, Arm & Hammer enhanced with some baby powder I had on hand. That product isn’t great, either, but it’s better than Lume unscented. My partner has breathing issues and is very sensitive to bad smells, and that mess made him cough, gag and suffer. Thanks a lot, Lume. Meanwhile, my favorite scent was discontinued. Amazon still has some in stock, so I subscribed to get the warm vanilla for as long as it’s in stock. After that, no more Lume for me. It’s overpriced, anyway.
