Self Adhesive Stove Window Glass Gasket Tape, 1" Width 72" Length

This worked really well for me and was much easier to install than the kind that doesn’t have glue.I liked the 1 inch size it allowed for plenty of space to wrap and it was helpful that it was thin in the middle. The website had good written instructions, which I appreciated. The glue worked very well and had very little odor as it burned off. The seal is wonderful and my stove is working well now. I have a glass front wood stove door and it was very compatible.

I bought the product to basically use as a space in my crockpot. Since the metal liner in the crockpot gets over 300 F, I needed something that could withstand those temps, which this tape does. While the tape was easy to apply and does the job I wanted great, the off-gassing was incredible and the chemical smell quite strong. It took about 5-6 hours to dissipate. While this is normal as glue cures when exposed to heat, it was more than I anticipated, especially considering I was not anywhere close to the temperature limit of the glue (650 F as provided in the listing). This leads to my second point, THE GLUE SPECS FROM 3M STATE THE MAXIMUM USE TEMPERATURE IS 400 F for a few hours at most, which is much lower than the product listing here says. Be sure to keep that in mind when using the product and keep it in a well ventilated area when first exposing it to heat.

I am a bit disappointed, this glue/tape on it didnt hold to the glass from the inside of the log burner. It holded maybe foe a first few days then we noticed it started to unglue itself and all ash were gettinf between the glass and the tape. Dont get me wrong it still holds the glass. If not the 2 metal plates from top and botton maybe the glass wouldnt hold. However the seal is still in place from the outside of the doores so its still good.
