Great product.
I like that it has 4 USB ports. Used a mouse keyboard and a jump drive. I had 6 pc's up and running so fast!

Great! small fotprint!
WOW! unplugged my 4 port KVM and plugged my computers into this new 8 port KVM and figured out that the keyboard and mouse went into the USB ports 1 and 2 and I figured right and VOILA!! It worked right out of the box!!!I am a happy camper!!!And it is slightly bigger than twice my7 4 port KVM.Great product. Hope it lasts.OH, did I mention that my existing cables for my 4 port KVM worked!!

Works beautifully, lack of power input can be an issue.
While I do like and use this product, and it has been reliable and functions well, there are a couple of quibbles.Lack of audio support outside the HDMI cable: One of my machines doesn't support audio through HDMI and as such I have to have separate speakers for that machine. This isn't the fault of this KVM but rather of my machine - but my previous (4-port) KVM did have Mini-DIN audio support and as such worked fine.Lack of power input:. I've had occasional issues where a device connected to the KVM's rear (shared) USB port drew enough power to kill the KVM; which would lose Video and USB connections, and I'd have to wait for it to reset. Had to add a separately-powered hub.Lack of reset button: Occasionally one or another machine will fail to recognize that the KVM has switch to it, and I won't get video or other connections. Switching back-and-forth doesn't help, I usually have to start unplugging things. Some sort of KVM reset button (previous device had this) would help.

Everything I needed
The product was everything I needed and it works great. Switches are firm and has a clean click. Remote works well. Easy to wire up.

Too many issues..
I've been needing an HDMI KVM switch for a while now because I have several PC's and other devices that require mouse and keyboard support connected to my TV and I was tired of having to switch things manually every time I changed inputs. So I picked this up earlier this week and it would have been exactly what I wanted - if it worked properly...Here's the main issue - the KVM seems to get confused about what is connected. In the "manual", it says that it will not allow the input to be changed if there is a Udisk plugged in to it, to avoid data corruption. Which is great in theory, if there was actually one plugged in!After I get everything connected, it works great for a few minutes. The inputs change quickly and the mouse and keyboard seamlessly switch with it to each device. But after some time, the IR remote stops responding and the only way to fix it is to unplug everything and plug it back in again.I do not have any external drives plugged in to it at all. The only thing plugged in to the USB port is a wireless dongle for my Logitech mouse/keyboard.So why does it prevent me from changing inputs with the remote after a while?? It makes no sense!I can still change inputs manually by pressing the buttons on the device itself, but I bought this specifically so I could use the remote to change them from a distance...It sucks because it is so close to working correctly and now I have to go through the trouble of finding something else and returning this one...When it does work, I noticed that periodically the mouse stutters for a bit, like there is interference or something. But not always. And I had to turn off UHD on the TV to get it to work with my Nvidia Shield (which was to be expected since it only supports 4k@30Hz).Here are the overall pros and con -Pros:- When it's working correctly, it's great!- Inputs change quickly- Mouse and keyboard switch seamlessly to each input- Can still pull in 4k@30Hz- Small form factor and looks nice in the entertainment center- Included HDMI cables have integrated USB for the peripherals so you don't have to run additional cables- Since it uses IR, you can (manually) program it to a Logitech Harmony remote (you have to teach the commands though because the device is not in their database).- Does not require external power source because power is fed through the USB- Price is decent for what it offers. Aside from one other 8 port HDMI KVM that is cheaper, all the others are twice the price.Cons:- Device seems to get confused about what is plugged in to it and prevents switching after a random period of time.- Output is somewhat limited. If you want true 4k@60Hz or higher, this will not work for you!- Sometimes after changing inputs, the audio gets messed up and you have to switch to a different one and back again to fix it.- I had to add an IR extender to it because the remote has very poor range.Overall, even though there are a lot of pros with this product, it's just not going to work for me so I will be returning it. I'm not sure if mine is just defective or what, but there is no rhythm or reason for it to randomly stop allowing me to change inputs. That alone is why I am rating it so low.

Worked fine with Linux hosts
I have 7 linux boxes to switch among. Up until now, I've been using a frankenstein combination of an ancient 4-port DVI KVM (which is starting to get flaky), a 4-port HDMI KVM, and a USB switcher. In the interest of simplifying, I decided to try this KVM switcher. My monitor is a 1980x1200 (16:10) monitor, so I was mildly concerned that it might present a resolution issue. So far, and it's early days, everything works (mostly) fine. I have had no problems with EDID, switching computers, or seeing BIOS screens. One strangeness that I have run into is that when the computer USB end of the cables are plugged into a USB 2.0 port, the keyboard/mouse doesn't respond. They work fine when plugged into a USB 3.0 port. I've no clue what is going on, so far. If you don't have any spare USB 3.0 ports, take note. For my part, I don't use a lot of USB, and this isn't an issue. So far so good...

Should be longer USB cables
USB cables too short for laptops, must use a USB extension!!!!!!

Seem's to do what it says
I was shocked at first at how small the unit is , but in reality, who wants a great big box sitting on their desk?. The connections are a nice tight fit so they won't fall out as on some units. The combined USB/HDMI cables are great for cutting down on USB lead. So far so good. Please note this unit is not powered so takes power from its USB connections.
