Is the 16awg on thew whole cable or on each pin in the cable? There are 3 pins in an XLR cable.

I haven't taken this apart, but it's been my experience in the past that 16 gage means each wire. Love this company. Quality products for low prices. This works great for me.

this says male xlr to female xlr. Can I use it the opposite way?

I think he is asking if these cables are directional..like say a DAC XLR output needs a female input cable to a male XLR input into an amplifier. So female to male. I think that is what his point or question was

How is the quality and durability compared to mogami xlr cables?

There is nothing wrong with the Monoprice, they are very robust and decent quality. I think the Mogami may have better components but not necessarily more durable.

Most of the XLR connectors have a tab connected to the metal body of the connector by the screw that holds the connector together you can use this for your extra ground.
