Better than Koh-i-noor used to be; excellent compass set! Thank you! Deo Gratias!
I don't know how to say this: this is like a very professional kit. I got the other brand (Mr. P**) and it was cheap, and I didn't review it and threw it away. I let this one sit, thinking it would be more of the same, but BOY was I surprised how excellent these tools were, like the real Koh-i-noor architect sets? THAT GOOD! (Not sure if Koh-i-noor still makes their architect stuff, but years ago they couldn't be beat!). The container is sturdy, functional, perfect size, but (this isn't a negative "but") the tools inside set it apart! They're actual REAL heavy professional tools, and I'd never heard of this brand! I'm so sorry I didn't write a review until now, when I actually opened it (because I needed it for my artwork). My cup runneth over, these are as a gift from the Lord and I don't feel worthy (no artist feels "worthy" but with the right tools, they can feel confident). Thank you "Ferocious Geometry" for these pro-level tools! EDIT: just looked up Koh-i-noor: SAME SET but Koh is $149! GREAT VALUE they're the SAME!

Great product and great service
After receiving this compass set I had a question about loosing the small screws that are used to attach the accessories . Being a bit of the paranoid type I emailed the question to the company at 10pm on a Wed. night and literally within minutes heard back from from the company (a MR. Torben Hamilton Hansen) who corresponded with me a couple times that night and offered to send me some extra screws at no charge "just in case" I misplaced any. Service like this is very rare and very appreciated. That alone would make me recommend their products! Just a note I have used the instrument and accessories and they work great and are very accurate, G skewes

Very Decent 'School Set' for the price!
I went through Engineering school in the 70's, and the 'art of drafting' was still all about C & D sized paper on very nice drafting tables. I've owned numerous sets of drafting tools, from Acco and Staedtler to several nice (albeit obsolete) German sets. That said, this little 'Ferocious Viking' set is not half bad! I hear everyone's complaints here in the comments about 'plastic this' or 'plastic that'...I have news for them, the last 3-Staedtler sets I purchased (and paid EXTRAVAGANTLY FOR) were also partially plastic. That said, here's the truth: The plotter pen DOES have a plastic 'press fit' handle...but the handle DOES remove, so that you can use the plotter pen in the compasses (try that on a low-end Staedtler!). The small spring compass is ALL metal, and the legs are cast, not 'press-bent' sheet metal...and I've had SEVERAL Staedtler's that 'feel similar' in overall weight and quality. The wheel compass (everyone seems to be calling this a 'lock compass', erroneously...since a lock compass also incorporates a 'locking mechanism' on the wheel, which this one does not have...and I haven't seen a lock on a <$300 compass set in a LONG TIME) the hinge point is a dense hard-pressed plastic (possibly PE or Nylon), but is NO DIFFERENT than several Staedtler's I've had in the past, either. The ONLY DIFFERENCE that this MIGHT have that some Staedtler's do have, is that there are no mesh gears in the hinge area, to equally open both legs relative to the hinge...and I don't believe Staedtler makes such a model anymore, either (using both a wheel and mesh gears on the same compass). The sharpener is chinsy and plastic, but WILL sharpen a 2mm lead quite nicely (the lead size, since it is not listed, and no one mentioned it, should you want to order extra). The wheeled compass DOES have plastic 'screw anchors', but then again, MANY MODERN COMPASSES do! To 'break one', having read some of these comments...all I can say is 'STOP TREATING PRECISION TOOLS LIKE LAWNMOWERS!' If you are forcing it, you are doing something VERY WRONG! If you don't know how to use it, watch a few YT videos first, and understand how to use a tool properly! All this said...this is a FINE tool set for ANY introductory class. I bought this set myself, so I wasn't pulling out my 100+ piece (mixed) engineering set to draw simple circles or lines with...and it works JUST AS WELL AS what I would expect from a $55 Staedtler set of comparable tools...IT IS A GOOD SET...but again, it is NOT a classic Keuffel set, either! I gave it 4-stars, because the fit of the beam to the large compass was VERY tight, and took a small bit of 'opening' of the receiving post on the compass to get it to insert properly. I DIDN'T BREAK ANYTHING DOING THIS, but the leg was a bit tight...the beam is also high quality, by the way... I would highly recommend this set for any high school and possibly non-engineering major college drafting work...

Horrific quality product
The pictures show the variable-sized pen/pencil holder who's plastic screw stripped after second use. And the other is where the graphite piece broke before arrival, and hoping to remedy this by turning a blind eye, found that the piece will not come out and is permanently stuck there. Product damaged, but shipping box ok applies here as well. But in my return, I indicated that the product was defective for multiple reasons. The graphite piece already installed on the compass was broken through the felt holder upon arrival, and was not removable. The blue plastic is a poor quality and strips very easily. As great as the metal portions of this compass is, it does not make up for all the other areas it is lacking in. For cosplayers, this is a 1 out 10 review. But I have to double their score for Amazon's sake. At a price point of $20, you'll find this shoddy piece of work to provide 0 functionality. The Amazon box, on the other hand is a 49 cent dream and does what every other box is assigned to do. Not this compass, the metal is polished to a matte shine and feels sturdy. The plastic introduces a brilliant blue that screams quality. Even the metallic screw provides a satisfyingly strong opening of the legs. The graphit provided, however, will do little to stay in one piece, and so you try the backup graphite. Broken. Last step is to try the variable pen sized holder, which you think is nice because they provide you the option to use... say, a sharpie. Good on the first try, a perfect 2 inch diameter. Let's try a different size... hmmm, the blue plastic screw stripped and will not stop swiveling. Oh, and would you look at that, the other side isn't glued very well into place, and will just pop off, providing no possibility of being functional again. Because of this, I returned it. BE WARNED. $20 is not much of a deal when the compass can't survive one test run.

Good but could be better
The knobs that tighten the screws do not work well. It feels substantial and looks good quality but again the knobs don’t hold tightly.

Cheap
Cheap junk with case broken, and parts are all scattered over the case. If you return it you have to pay for shipping that will most likely be more to ship than products worth.
