the AI-Micro works well for the price, and especially the size!
I am a musician. I wanted to up my game of taking videos with my phone. I got the AI-Micro. I use a dual wireless lav mic system in one channel. And i take the headphone output from my guitar's pedal board into the second channel. The app on the phone allows me to get a good mix right off the bat. It does take a little experimentation to get it right. But now I can take videos with my android phone and the audio is excellent. There is a bit of unwanted noise. But it is acceptable. And i dont know if this noise is coming from my pedal board, the lav mics, or the AI-micro. Regardless, this little devices does what I need it to do, and does that well. A+ product.

Total Game Changer
I wanted a way to easily record the full stereo output of Ableton Live to my phone. I've tried several methods, all with varying levels of success, but this thing does the trick phenomenally. I've always wanted just a hardware connection for that sort of thing to omit the headache of software audio routing (as I'm on Windows and with ASIO drivers setting everything up can be a pain. Voicemeeter Banana can only get you so far lol). The one thing I wish I'd realized before purchasing this was that it has to option to send a stereo signal via one 3.5mm jack as opposed to making 2 mono signals stereo (which you can also do). I bought a stereo to mono splitter cable for this thing, but I didn't even need it! All I needed was a regular 3.5mm audio cable and I was all set.My only real complaint is that as far as I can tell the direct monitoring feature is only in mono, so if I want to listen to a full stereo mix in real time (say, for example, like monitoring my mix for singing and piano playing on a TikTok live) I have to have a separate output for my headphones. The problem that is created there is that now I can't actively listen for clipping on the Røde input, which makes precisely setting the gain a little hairy at times. The fact that it plugs into the USB C port on my phone also means that I can't charge my phone while I'm using this unit, which is a little unfortunate. I could probably use a splitter dongle to get around that, but I'm not entirely certain that doing so wouldn't damage either the product or my phone. Technology is expensive enough without the potential risk of accidentally frying your favorite toys, lol.All in all, this thing is absolutely amazing. It's all I wanted and more, and my only gripes with it are nitpicky and not unexpected. This product makes setup and capturing a breeze; it's a total game changer!

Useful for Birding
I got this for use with the "Hear Birds Again" iPhone application. I built a high-quality Binaural Headset to go with it and i was amazed at how well it worked. I also found that i could use this interface along with my new headphones in the Merlin app. In Merlin it gives you the ability to amplify what you are already hearing while Merlin analyzes it. With the microphone's from the Binaural headset connected you get super human hearing in Merlin. With a Parabolic Dish Directional Microphone connected instead you get highly directional analysis you can hear in the headphones and analyze in Merlin at the same time. The local monitor out feature is what allows this to work so well. This device is a great addition to any digital birders toolkit. I suppose it might also make pretty good spycraft as well!

Funcional
Antes de usarlo activa la función OTG en tu teléfono smartfone de lo contrario no funciona. Lo digo porque el manual no lo dice. Me decepcionó porque no graba audio para transmisiones en vivo.

Doesn't work with Discord
I ordered this mainly to use with Discord on iOS on the iPad Pro. However, it simply refuses to work because it is not recognized as a headset. It seems to be a limitation on iOS regarding call audio. The iPad just immediately swaps to the built in mic/speaker as soon as you join a call. The AI Micro works in literally every other app I tried. It worked perfectly well on my PC. It does the same thing on my android phone too so it seems to be a limitation of Discord. It's the smallest audio interface I've ever come across which means its great for recording on phones. I can also imagine using this with my vr headset and a lav mic.------Edit: I got the AI Micro to work on my Samsung S8+ by toggling a developer option in Android that was disabling USB audio devices. However, it still doesn't work in Discord since it seems mobile discord will only use 'headsets'.

Would give 6 stars!
Voice dictating this review using a Rode microphone running through the Rode AI micro adapter. I’ve had it for 48 hours so far and it’s solved three major sound problems that I haven’t been able to fix for years. The first is that it makes the microphone work in my iPad Pro (USB C) not only for Siri dictation (as I’m doing at this moment), but also works in my EMR application which has cloud-based dictation (dragon medical one) embedded. Also works for Backpack which is a podcasting app. Sound quality is excellent. Also plugs into my iPhone and runs Siri dictation and Backpack - and plugs into my PC to provide audio for video recording I do at work. Three problems solved!

Recording is great until you monitor with speakers...
The AI-Micro works well for recording a stereo signal using my phone, and each mic in port supports trs stereo. However, as soon as I plug in speakers to the monitor port, it introduces a crazy high noise floor. I am now splitting my signal upstream of the AI-Micro so I can monitor without using the headphone jack. This keeps the noise floor at acceptable levels for cleaner recordings. The noisefloor problem doesn't occur with headphones, so if you plan to monitor with headphones, this shouldn't be a problem.
