Fantastic product to fix an obscure problem
I can't say enough good things about this replacement part, and DiCUNO. Excellent product!!! The DiCUNO low voltage whips were just the ticket for replacement of an OEM whip gone bad in one of our recessed ceiling can lights, that is just over a year old in a new home. I'm not even sure what brand that fixture is - but the original part was weak to say the least. Our new home has had several LV recessed ceiling lights go out in the first year. I kept replacing bulbs until finally a new bulb didn't work either. Only then did I climb a ladder to our 14' ceiling and inspect inside the housing. The original whip was very similar to the DiCUNO in size, but poorly designed compared to DiCuno's. The new ones I just installed have great spring loaded clips that hold the two pins from the light bulb securely inlace, braided fabric insulation on the wires and reinforced where the wire connects to the ceramic disc. Consequently they look as if they will not be subject to any effects from the heat given off by the 50W low voltage light. The old OEM one basically "melted" (overstated a bit), where the wire was connected into the ceramic disc. That resulted in the wire being loose and the pin for the lightbulb no longer secure in place. Once I installed the new DiCUNO whip, GET THIS!, the old light bulb worked is held securely and cost was so reasonable compared to going back though the original contractor/developer. I must have replace half a dozen bulbs over the past year - and I'm guessing those were good, for the lack of this new quality part. Nice job DiCUNO! Only thing that could make these better still would be a bit longer lead wires. Still, plenty to work with but may require adding a short job Myers in some fixtures (1 of mine did).

Fits great, works well
Upshot: these holders fit into place easily, bite the bulbs properly, and work to fix your fixture. But I don't have long term survival info yet. I bought these bulb holders to resuscitate a Home Depot recessed light can. The old cheap wiring had corroded through, and died. I amputated the bad wiring, spliced this holder in line, and now my fixture lives on. I don't know if this is good news or bad, these wires feel a bit more flexible than the original. Could be thinner gauge metal inside. It was useful because it made it easier to jam the spliced wires into the can, but I can't speak to longevity yet. I'm just a couple months in. On top of that, the sockets bite the pins on my bulb just right. It was slightly hard to push the pins in, but they held in place really nicely while I was adjusting the position. Good. Also, the price beats the carp out of buying a new recessed light fixture!

If you have "FAILING" Halogen bulbs with the small narrow connector pins...
I have installed quite a few of the insulated and non-insulated cans that have the built-in transformers to power the halogen bulbs with the two small short & narrow connector pins. After about 15 years of use on the ones in my own kitchen, they started "failing". I was initially thinking the problem was with a bad batch of bulbs, then thought the transformers in a couple of them were going bad. Dreaded replacing the transformer or can in whole because it would mean tearing down ceiling drywall because the attic space where they are located is to shallow to access from above. The bulbs pins still felt like they were making good contact in the holes on the original connectors, but I saw these connectors and figured what the heck, let me try it and see. IT WORKED!!!! They DEFINITLY grab the pins a whole lot tighter than the original connectors, and this was less than a 10 min job on each can. Simply cut the old wires, cut some of the length off these wires, connected the wires with Ceramic wire nuts, put the light fixture part of the can back in place, hit the switch.... LIGHT!!! Can't rate on durability yet, but these things work very very well initially. If you are replacing halogens, please make sure to utilize ceramic wire nuts, not the typical plastic ones used for regular electrical wiring since they will melt due to the heat trapped inside the can and usually right above the VERY HOT bulbs. If you have issues where the light will turn on briefly and then goes dark after a few minutes, or it just won't light up anymore, then I highly recommend you try this quick & easy & cheap fix first... It saved me time & effort & money for sure !! You can get the ceramic wire connectors at any HW store, but I ordered them online when I ordered these. If only connecting two wires in each wire nut then you only need the small ones... Here is the title in Amazon for the ones I picked up: Easy-Twist Ceramic Wire Connector, 22-14 AWG, Small Size, White (Bag of 15) -Mike

Excellent Replacement Socket
The DiCUNO Bi Pin socket was an excellent replacement for one of my ceiling can (hi hat) fixtures that was blowing out a few bulbs. I just didn't realize for a bit that it was the older socket that needed to be replaced. Easy fix. I cut the old socket off, spliced the new one in to the wires hanging from the fixture & used high heat ceramic nuts to cover the exposed wire. Put some electric tape around the nuts. And don't forget to turn the power off before attempting this or any electric repair.

Appear well made.
Nice sockets, but they put short pieces of insulation at the base that will slide down. A bit of shrink tubing at that spot would be a great improvement.

Good quality sockets that are easy to install and replace defective old ones. Note that the spring function to hold the bulbs in place is a great feature, but it also makes it more difficult to locate the pin holes to insert the bulbs into it. Make sure you have a flashlight to help you with this.

I bought these MR16 sockets, a pack of 6, to replace an MR16 socket that I had at home that was corroded. These sockets came in a nice box, and are of very good quality, so I was very impressed. They are also very easy to install, and the end of the wires are protected with insulation to prevent the wires from splitting, which I was also impressed with. All in all a fantastic purchase at a reasonable price, much cheaper than my local electrics store. These also arrived very quickly, around about 1 and half weeks after I had ordered them.
