I tried different instant curry sauce over the years including that from S&B, but this one tops all of them in consistency, taste, color and ingredients. Like it says- put it in boiling water with whole closed package and get instant curry. I did that and also tried it out in a pot with roasted chicken I cut into pieces. I also put in precooked ground beef. I also added in precooked boiled potatoes to dress it up. And surprise, it tasted just like I slaved over the stove for hours the traditional way. The curry sauce was not oily like some of the other brands, and the taste was much better for S&B than in the past. The price was also right- so I got a great deal- cook up some rice in the cooker, put in my roast chicken pieces, and presto- in less than 5min, I got a dish of delicious curry - nearly homemade. GREAT FOR THE DORM, HOTEL ROOM, ON THE GO, AT WORK, on tired days when you just want to eat simple. It goes well with instant noodle- just half the soup powder- curry does the rest. Also great with udon noodles as well. Or with flat bread, tortilla, or bread. Have fun, enjoy!

I like it. I have a couple boxes of their mild, and then I bought this box of hot. Like the mild, it has a good curry smell, a slightly spicy curry taste. Has a hint of sweetness, and is definitely salty. Decent portion for all the flavor it adds to rice or other vegetables. I really dont mind it as a convenience item. I tend to overstock my pantry in case of bad weather, illness, laziness, pandemics, WW3, food shortage, hyper-inflation. LOL. With this, it takes up little room, adds some good flavor to whatever I pair it with, and if need be it can consumed direct from pack (though it is best over something, or with something). It doesn't replace going to a restaurant or home made, just like Spaghettioos dont replace an Italian restaurant or homemade pasta, but its a convenience item that has its place in my life. I like it, its tasty enough, and I would buy more.

I discovered Japanese curry last year and have made it a few times using the S&B Golden curry blocks. It’s a really comforting savory meal, though it does take some time and effort to make. I saw this premade curry product on a great sale and was really curious about how it would compare. It’s amazing! You can either put the whole pouch in boiling water or pour the contents out and microwave- so super easy and quick. The ingredients are simple, whole ingredients and one package clocks in at only 170 calories, but it’s really high in sodium (790mg), saturated fat (3.5G), and has 5g of added sugar. The taste is amazing! Very similar to when I’ve made Japanese curry myself and of course significantly quicker/easier. It’s salty and savory, but not spicy (I’m not sure why Japanese curry is labeled hot- it never tastes at all spicy to me), and the veggies are yummy. This is a super easy meal served over rice and you can add meat or other veggies too- one package for us can serve two people, esp if you dress it up with rice or other ingredients. It is good by itself too! I’ll definitely purchase this again the next time it’s on sale.

I love this instant curry with vegetables. Flavor is top notch, heats up easily in microwave. Add some organic brown rice and some kind of protein (I have been using Wild Planet Sardines) to make it a complete meal. Best instant Japanese curry around!

this is the better flavor out of the two I have tried. mild is a little bland but hot is perfect. it’s a ready made meal after microwaving and adding rice. to make it more you could add some garnish of scallions like me or add some chicken katsu

Tastes good, ok value for money. But the product pictures they use + the nutrition label is outdated, for example: the new blue packaging has 0 grams of protein whereas the old black packets had 3g of protein. Not a big deal for me personally since I planned on using these to pair with another protein source or two anyway.
