For fake... good!
Let's face it, there's nothing like a live plant aquarium and I've spent many years keeping that. But, they area lot of work and now I don't want to do so much work anymore but I definitely still want to keep my aquariums.I purchased this and a few other plastic aquarium plant decorations for a couple of new setups recently. I haveto say that while it now real...no way...no how...this particular plant does look good. The "fakeness" is therebut it still looks very good in the tank. The only caution I'd give really isn't specifically about this item...it's withregard to ALL plastic plants. Once they get covered with algae, it's very hard to ever remove it from the plastic. So I'd say that keeping the brightness of the lights on the aquarium down. If you want to keep it bright for viewing, then only do that for up to 2.5 hours or so per day. For the rest of the day, either keep the lights off orkeep them at a very dim setting if you can do that with your light fixture. This will keep the plastic plant lookinggood and you'd avoid getting to the point where it just looks nasty and you have to throw it out and order new ones.

Very nice
I like that this plant has no visible joints in the water. I absolutely cannot stand seeing the joints on plastic plants in an aquarium. To me it makes the plants look cheap and unnatural. This plant is very full and heat molded so that the joints stay hidden. The only problem with the heat molding is that if you want to shape your plant or if you expect it to fan out some in the water that will be more difficult. This plant pretty much holds the same shape in the water as it does straight out of the package. To shape it you would probably have to soak it in hot water or warm it up with a hair dryer and manipulate it while the plastic is still warm. I like the fact that this plant holds it shape as it will make cleaning it easier and as I stated before it keeps any unsightly joints from view. I also like that the coloring is nice and green with multiple shades which makes it look more real than if it was all one tone. It looks really good in my aquarium so I am happy.

Just what I was looking for…
I wanted a full bushy plant and that is exactly what I got. Another fine item on Amazon.

Peeps are satisfied!
First part of this review is for a plant I bought Jan. 7, 2018:For $5, this was a pretty good deal. I got this for my button quail tank, so I needed something with sturdy leaves that they couldn't eat and stems that would allow it to stand upright without water, and I couldn't find anything of a good size locally, without having to drop nearly $20.Pros:-Sturdy enough to stand upright outside of water, so suitable for reptile terrariums, too.-No chemical smells. Just smells like plastic. Give it a wash just incase of manufacturing residue though. Mine was slightly sticky, but no more than any store bought item that's been handled a lot.-Base seems evenly weighted for the plant. Some I saw locally had tiny bases in comparison.Cons:-Some leaves are deformed, though if they were going for a bug-chewed look for realism, that might be ok. They haven't been chewed. Many of the leaves simply aren't fully cast. See pic.-You may need to clean off some hot glue threads. For the price, not a big deal though. A hard bristled brush works for most. Pick off the rest.Modifications I made:-I filled the extra holes in the base with more hot glue, since I'm using mine for my quail and birds poop a lot, so I sealed those off to make it easier to clean.Would I buy this again? Yes.Edit added Sept. 27, 2018:I really loved the first plant I bought and I wish I had bought a second at the time because that one didn't stink. This second one came smelling strongly of chemicals. I washed it with dish soap 3 times with shower temp water and it still stunk, so it's been outside just left out day and night in a full sun area for a couple days.Only today is the smell noticeably receding. The plan was to leave it out for about a week and hopefully it'll be fine then. Took off two stars because of the smell of this second one. Quality otherwise looks good. No deformed leaves that I've noticed compared to my first, but I would've taken the deformed leaves over this stink. Oy.

Caution, sharp points
Caution! I would advise that you don’t use this decoration in an aquarium unless you do some careful filing first. This decoration has several short, sharp points sticking out of the main inner stalks. Maybe these stubs are where other branches are attached if the stalks are also used for other plant configurations. Not visible until you look behind the thinner outside branches. Unfortunately I didn’t look at it careful enough before putting it in our aquarium and one of our small fish got a lethal cut. Sorry I didn’t take pictures before throwing it away.

Fish love it!
Our Cory cats have loved this this since they were added to the aquarium. The go inside of it and hide. It’s not sharp and provides good coverage.
