Basically purchased it to verify capacitor status. Good workmanship. It the feel cheap. Works perfectly and I like the auto sensing settings.

It has all the standard tests that you would see in a multi tester but it does have wider ranges in almost all of the standard tests. Not only does it have a standard diode and continuity test but it has the ability to test capacitors and transistors which some multi testers can do. Now for some of the extras. It has a non-contact ac voltage detector built into it so I no longer have to keep a separate probe for that. It has an accurate frequency tester which comes in handy. It has the ability to test temperature so I can find out if a component is extremely hot. It also has a nice infrared remote detector to actually see if your infrared remote control is sending signals. All in all this multitester has replaced four of my previous tools in my tool kit. I highly recommend this tester for its features and accuracy.

Pros: It performs very well at all functions. Meets all the specs listed. Even lights white LED's and is able to display the voltage value with no problems. Back light display is awesome. The magnet on the back is really helpful when you need both hands to perform readings. The continuity test latches quick and it is very responsive. Capacitance measurement has a very nice range and 4mfd takes about 7 seconds to get the reading. One of the best I have seen for this price point. Const: The range switch beep every time you change the position (This can be annoying for someone). It has ceramic fuses but those are rated 250v only and the input protection is limited; So the application of this meter is limited (No for electricians or work on the mains). But great performance for electronics or work inside home before the electrical panel. That is why the 5 stars.

The tester was delivered in a timely fashion, and was as advertised. It is solidly built, and has a nice backlight in the display and a flashlight feature on the back. It has a nice flip out stand, although it does feel a bit flimsy and I'm wondering how it will stand up compared to the rest of the tester in time. You'll need a small phillips screwdriver on hand to unscrew one screw on the back to install the supplied batteries. The test leads are good quality, although one of the plug in ends that attaches to the tester was a bit deformed from packing, more oval than round, so I just have to squeeze it a bit to plug into the tester, NOT a big deal. There was also an instruction manual included, 2 extra fuses, the temperature tester probe and the alligator clips which slide onto the probes ends. They are ok, but you may need to trim the insulated covers back on them depending what you're testing. I slid the covers off as I wanted to test the pickups in a guitar, and to get the two clips in place on the guitar cable end, I had to use the very bottom of the clips so needed to open them wide. It worked well and gave me a very close reading on the pickups. To use the continuity testing, after selecting you have to push the function key once to put it into audible mode, and it works very well and quickly - (read thru the manual to find out the other options the function key gives depending on your selection). I tried the NCV function and it worked well to let me know my plug ins are live, it also seems to be able to scan thru drywall to find live lines behind it as well. I did some tests on a few batteries to check readings, also tested some resistors I had laying around and it seems to work fine. I gave it 4/5 stars overall just because of the stand, and I gave it 4/5 stars on accuracy as it's only based on the small tests I've used it for so far. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, I'm not a professional, just a DIY type of guy, and I think I'll get more than my money's worth out of it for years to come.

Auto-Ranging Digital Multimeter, 6000 Counts Electrical Tester AC/DC Voltage Current Detector, NCV works as expected, except for the NCV. NCV does not function very well, it gives a false signal where there is no cable(romax) and nothing right at the outlet, lol. NCV need more work I suppose. Otherwise the meter works pretty good. Display is easy to read and selecting test mode is very easy. Great meter, less teh NCV. I would give it 5 star if not for the NCV.
