Great value drive for very little money
Brilliant little external CD/DVD/RW. Used with a Win10 laptop. Works straight out of the box. No drivers needed to be installed. RIPs CDs easily with media player, only taking a couple of minutes for a full album.Only has a short, permanently fixed USB lead, but on the plus side you won't loose it, and it tucks away neatly underneath the unit when not in use.For £11.99 what more can you ask for !! Totally recommended.

Slim and efficient
This piece works amazingly, connects to my computer as well as an internal drive. It has a nice and slim shape so it doesn't take up too much room as well.

Doesn’t work and never will. Misleading image.
The image shows a power lead which was not included. Nor is there even a port to attach a power lead. There is only a single usb lead built in.Almost all laptop USB ports does not output enough power to run a CD drive, so this will never work. Refund requested and orders an alternative, which come with two usb leads - one for power and one for data which works fine.

Great
Came in great condition! Works amazing. The fan is a little bit loud but it gets quiet.

Cheap and cheerful.
Used for transferring C.D's to M.P. 3 player via lap top. Works perfectly but only time will tell about it's durability. Only just bought it so can't give it a full review but for 10 quid you can't go wrong.

Works fine, but is very slow at ripping CD's.
Its been a very long time since I last ripped a CD so I didnt know if this drive was just really slow or if Im just spoiled by modern storage. With this in mind I temporarily hooked up an old internal SATA DVD drive and ripped the same CD on both devices.2m and 58s for the SATA drive and a whopping 7m and 50s for this USB version. This drive is fine for occasional use, but if like me you have a ton of CD's to rip, it just isnt practical.

Works with Windows 7
At first my Lenovo Windows 7 (freshly installed) Thinkpad didn’t recognise it and I thought I will have to try downloading a driver. But after searching on Google for a solution I tried a different USB port and shut it down, plugged in the optical drive to a different USB port and Windows 7 found it on booting up. I’ve had this before with Windows 7 many years ago and it’s a case of repeating the above and it should all work fine - no drivers needed and (sort of) plug’n’play after fiddling about. All works well now and much cheaper than the official Lenovo USB optical CD/DVD external drive. So, don’t give up if it doesn’t work at the start.
