Small foot prints nice sound quality
This is very expensive but putting that aside the sound quality is amazing. The small surround speakers pack a heavy punch. Nice sound quality. Worth $4,000? I don’t know. I think it is a bit expensive.

and we are very happy with it
This review is for 650. We have had it for over half a year now, and we are very happy with it. Initially, after reading all of the reviews we were little worried about the system's compatibility with our TV, and we did encounter a couple of issue at the very beginning. TV Samsung 9500, we had cable before and recently switched to amazon fire TV. We had to call Bose three times to make it work with TV. I have to say it was not a very pleasant experience, and I had doubt if it ever gonna work (I saved the box just in case we had to return it). When we were setting everything up, we had to call Bose to get it connect to the TV. A week after the initial connection, the system dropped out. We then called Bose again to get it reconnect. A couple hours after that, it dropped out again. We then had to call again. After the third try, it has been stable ever since. There was no issue when we switched from cable to amazon fire tv. The fiber cable comes with the system definitely helps. We can't make everything work with one remote, so now we have 3 remotes in order to just watch TV. The sound quality of Bose 650 is crystal clear, I think probably not many people would have questions about that. Overall I am happy with the purchase.

What a joke -- don't purchase
When the system arrived, three of the four satellite speakers did not work. The customer service rep kept insisting that it was due to bad speaker cable, and wanted to send me replacement cables. I finally convinced them that, since ONE of the four speakers worked, that couldn't be the case. After many hours with customer service, they reluctantly agreed to send me replacements for the speakers that didn't work. Today I received four CENTER CHANNEL speakers. I have now been on hold with Bose for far longer than acceptable trying to rectify this situation, and after over a week of trying to sort this out I still don't have a functioning home theater system. Bose customer service is horrible and they are not standing behind this very expensive product -- they're giving me the runaround and clearly their quality control is terrible since not one but THREE of the original speakers aren't working. On top of that, when you call them and finally get through and select "Lifestyle home theater system" they answer and tell you you're in the wrong department and put you back on hold. Do yourself a favor and skip this experience and buy something from a better organized company that cares about its customers.

Nightmare on Bose Street
What a mechanical pile of crap! The speaker connections are poorly designed, with what appear to be 4/32 screws that easily strip, in a bracket contraption you have to pay $50+ for that is basically Bose-custom and useless for any in-wall or otherwise halfway professional speaker installation. The rears require a wireless-to-wired converter assembly that has you plugging in 3 more outlets than are necessary and filling up a stereo cabinet with useless boxes, and the instructions to get it all going look simple but are functionally incorrect.I'm replacing an older lifestyle system, and nothing is forward compatible. As a "compact" system, it's not. There's more crap here than necessary, and my stereo cabinet is now full of wasted wiring and modules that serve no identifiable purpose other than to try to be wireless. Your idea of speaker connections is a solder-tinned wire at the end of a $50 molded cable?PoS, totally disappointed, and that's coming from a Bose 901 to lifestyle convert. Fire your mechanical designer.Too p#ssed off to know what to do next. Back to Heos, I guess?

Stunning sound. Truly terrible remote. INcompatible with universal remotes.
The sound quality is stunning. Voices sound like real people. Bass has punch. The omnijewel cubes are tiny small. But the remote is pretty terrible. Because it is RF only you cannot use other universal remotes like your satellite receiver. Worse, the SoundTouch app lets you switch to music or Bluetooth, but when you want to switch back to TV you must dig up the Bose remote and switch to video. Even worse, there is no single button to press on the remote to switch to TV...you must go through a “Source” menu. It’s an incredible inconvenience. The layout of the Bose remote is inconvenient with its concentric circles of buttons.

Absolutely Brilliant Worth Every Single Penny
Bought the Bose Lifestyle 650 in white last week. Just installed it today. Set up was quite straight forward and the sound is absolutely amazing. Worth every penny paid.It is a class apart from most other surround systems. Sonos is not in the same league as this.Dont listen to the haters , the system is very easy to set up and also would recommend hard wire the rear speakers. The quality is amazing just do the research in terms of set up before . I ensured i had enough bose cable for rear speakers , also ensured i had the right legnth of hdmi for all my inputs , if you have weak wifi connect with ethernet !Soundtouch app superb !! Listening to it as i write this review
