After many years I feel like I'm a professional hard contact lens wearer but unfortunately was switched to a soft contact in one eye after scratching my cornea. I can pop those hard contacts out with ease (but they also make the handy dandy plunger to plunge it right out just incase)On to the soft contact situation... I had no problem inserting it but getting it out was impossible for me. I have nails so pinching it out with my finger tips wasn't an option. After watching way to many how to YouTube videos and trying over and over, I gave up. I cried hoping I could cry it out but no, that soft contact just stayed in there. No matter how many times I slid it to the side and tried to pinch it out I was unsuccessful. I thought it would have to live there for life. After trying for what seemed like forever, I begged my unwilling daughter to please just touch my eyeball and she helped me get it out. After all that chaos, I googled and was led to this contraption. I'll try anything to not waste my life away trying to get my contact out every night. I ordered it and waited before attempting to wear a soft contact again. Once it came, it was time to test it out removing the contact. I used the silicone contraption to slide the contact to the side then pinched the ends together and after trying twice... out came the contact!! So simple! No chaos. No frustration. No wasted night. No crying. Success!!! I can definitely recommend this and am very relieved this exists!

The Opti-Wand contact lens installer/remover did not work for me. I have no trouble inserting my Dailies 1 soft contacts by Alcon manually. However, these lens have such a perfect curvature to match my cornea that it’s very difficult to break the seal necessary to get them out. The snazzy video and (some positive) Amazon comments led me to order this product. After giving them a good workout and trying to get the necessary technic down I must conclude they won't pinch as described.I use the small end of the Wand with the cut-outs as instructed. The idea is not to use the Wand as a suction cup. Rather it is intended to slightly pinch the lens so that air can get between the lens and the cornea allowing one to lift to be lifted out and away from the eye. Sounds good in theory. The problem with this is that they do not grip the lens allowing one to pinch; they simply slide across the lens. As a test I placed one contact on the tip of my index finger using it to mimic my cornea. But again, they only slide and do not pinch the lens as required. I have tried this with the lens slightly wet with storing solution and with the lens dry. Nothing works. I’ve tried the Wand with other brands of soft lens. They were ineffective here as well. Perhaps others have had more luck. But not me. Quite expensive for something like this even if it did work. I can’t recommend this product.

I had trouble over 6 months trying to get my contacts in and I just couldn’t find a way to get them in! Then I found this magical wand! What a blessing ..it makes inserting my contacts super easy for me ..I still haven’t been able to use it to take them out with it but I'm thrilled to have it to insert them!! Easy 5 stars ⭐️

It didn't really work for me

I recently started letting my nails grow after hurting myself from cutting too short. After browsing for some sort of tool, I found this one had the best reviews. For insertion, this item is wonderful! I also found that by not touching the lense with my finger to pick it up, vision through the lense was immediately clear. The lense also adjusted pretty quickly. The con...removal didn't work for me. I tried every method and nothing worked. This item did not work to pinch, no matter how hard I tried! It wouldn't budge! I ended up poking my eye and now I'm sure I have a scratch. Thus, I need to lay off my contacts for about a week. I'm returning them. Paying $20 for such small items is alot. Paying for them not to work is unacceptable. I had such high hopes. Three stars for insertion because that worked great! (Excuse my face, lol...I had just returned from a microneeding session🤣)

This tool works wonder to insert the contacts, however I had hard time like the other reviews almost scratching my eyes trying to get contacts out by using this tool. After two unsuccessful tries I decided to abandon the effort because I’m a pretty handy person if I could not figure it’s the tool to blame. At the meantime I used finger cots when dry to remove contacts it was so easy to remove.

this item didn't work for me. I ended up seeing the eye doctor to remove an errant soft contact, and gave me a prescription for medicated eyedrops. If you are in pain, my suggestion is see your doctor.

This is the perfect tool for applying your contacts! It took me a little bit to perfect the technique but, once I did! It all I use for application. It’s perfect for ladies with long fingernails!!!
