This is a sturdy fruit picker. When the description said it was telescoping, I was worried that it would be and extendable and retractable, with segments sliding into other segments. That type of pose is usually flimsy and fragile, although convenient for storing while retracted.But this fruit picker has pole segments that screw into each other with a heavy-duty plastic sleave. This makes for a rigid and useful pole that will not flex while pushing through leaves and branches. Included are two pipe clamps, not just one. And each clamp has a wide turning handle that makes it easy to hand tighten. This is attention to detail and shows that the company cares about product quality. They could have easily included just one clamp that is screwdriver tightened, but the fastening would have been less secure, and a tool would be needed to tighten.The instructions were adequate and used color pictures, not black and white drawings. The box had a sticker with a reminder to follow instructions before use. The written instructions should have been clearer. The steps should be re-arranged with (1) the basket joined around the pole segment with the hole, (2) clamps should be attached loosely so that the bolt can fit in the holes and through the gap between the basket halves, (3) the clamps are tightened, (4) the wide end of the nut is screwed onto the bolt, and (5) the pole segments are attached.I just used it to pick a large lemon and it worked like a charm.

THIS APPEARS DURABLE WITH THE POSSIBLE EXCEPTION OF A SCREW WEARING OUT DUE TO FRICTION AND SHEARING OFF-I SUPPOSE THAT'S WHY THEY GIVE YOU TWO SETS OF ATTACHING SCREWS THOUGH. THIS PROBLEM IS EASILY FIXED WITH A LARGER DIAMETER MACHINE SCREW TO PREVENT SHEARING. EVERYTHING FITS TOGETHER WELL-EASY TO USE AND IS LIGHT WEIGHT.

I received the 10 ft long version this week and immediately headed to a grapefruit tree for testing. The picker is very well constructed and by easily adding or removing pole sections the length can be fine tuned for your needs. I needed 6 ft.The sections screw together easily and the pole is extremely strong. The metal basket is also well constructed and easily harvested medium to large grapefruit.The tool is still solid at 10 ft. But could be heavy or a bit awkward as you maneuver between branches. This would be true for any brand.The 2 tools (wrench and screwdriver) are very cheap and barely usable. But your home pliers and screwdriver are all you need.I highly recommend this fruit picker and would buy again.

Light weight, easy to use and handle fruit with care. Also makes picking fruit easy and enjoyable!

This helps to reach high fruit but we have peach trees that this poked holes in the fruit. When we used it on our apple trees, it worked ok but the problem was that when we pulled the fruit off, it would also make several other apples fall from the tree so anyone standing below had to watch out so they didn't get bonked on the head by falling apples. We ended up picking the peaches by hand and also picked most of the apples by hand also. For the high apples, we did use this picker and just ended up with a lot of bruised fruit that was still usable but just not as nice as the stuff that was picked by hand.

Tool that came with the item to hold the nut while turning the screw did not fit properly so used pliers instead. Otherwisefabulous item, worked great on my guava tree. The pole is easy to adjust by adding or subtracting more sections. Very sturdy. Weight not a problem for a Small woman.
