Perfect EDC Keychain Flashlight
I first learned about these lights from Chris Boden’s YouTube channel, and they have proven to be excellent portable flashlights. The high and low modes are genuinely useful, with enough brightness to clearly see what you’re doing. They are extremely compact, about the size of an AA battery, and fit perfectly on a keychain or clipped to a bag. The construction feels very durable and well-made without adding unnecessary weight. USB-C recharging is convenient and fast. Overall, this has been a great purchase.

Finally, a keychain light that doesn't turn on in my pocket
Keychain flashlights are really handy tools to always have with you. However, my last two models have had the problem of turning themselves on in my pocket and then when I need to use them, the batter is dead or almost dead. My last one was a high quality Fenix 03R (not V 2.0). It has 4 brightness levels where the lowest has a very long runtime and the the highest was very bright. It also had a separate red light with one brightness level and a flashing function. The button was perfectly flush with the body and it charged via USB-C. If it wasn't always dead it would've been the ideal keychain flashlight. It was very good and very useful when it was working. However, almost every time I took it out to use it wouldn't turn on or would flash twice (indicating low battery) and then turn off. It had a lockout function, but I never go into the habit of using the lock-out function and then unlocking it every time I needed to use it. It would've been annoying too. This light is worse in terms in features. Only 2 settings. The low setting is very low, but lasts long at least. The highest setting isn't nearly as high as the Fenix light, but good enough. I'm glad it charges via USB-C since I'm trying to switch all of my devices to use that (note that the front of the light partially blocks the USB port so you have to get it in, watch for the charging light to come on and then don't touch it or it will come out just a tiny bit and not charge, the included charging cable is slimmer than most so it doesn't cause as much of a problem, but if your cables are fat at the end you won't be able to get it in far enough to initiate charging). But the thing that is most important is that it is ready to go when I need it. The best flashlight in the world is still useless if it is always discharged. To turn this light on you need to push the head in and twist it a few turns for the weak light, then twist it a turn and a half or 2 to get it in to high output mode. This isn't something that can accidentally happen in my pocket, so I am happy. If there was a light that activates like this, but comes with the robust feature set of the Fenix I would be in heaven, but this is what I want and is good enough for me.

Sweet Keychain EDC Light !!!
I always like having a keychain EDC light on me vs a penlight style. I usually use the light on my phone, but I just like to have a small backup. I have been using the Streamlight Nanolight for several years. I really like the light and its size, but the output is a little anemic in some situations. The i1R2 is just a little bit bigger than the Nano but the light output is much more powerful. I like that the light has a 2 stage brightness levels without having to program a switch. Tighten the lens slightly and the low power light comes on. Tighten it a little further and the light goes to the high power mode. Very intuitive and it works the way you would expect it to. The twist style feature is the same as the Nano and I was concerned about both turning on in my pocket, but that has never been an issue. The construction of the OLight is top notch as all of their products have been. It's case is aluminum, nicely knurled, and black anodized. I really like the usb-c charging port. I always have a charger around and it's nice not having to worry about batteries. Unscrewing the lens end reveals the charging port. There is a light spring that opens it fully once it is unthreaded a few turns. The lens does not unscrew completely, but remains captive which is nice. There is also the requisite "O"-ring for twist resistance and keeps the electronics free of moisture. The threads grab easily when closing up the charging port and do not feel as though they could be stripped out. There is a small key ring on the tailpiece to attach to my keychain or it could be used with a lanyard. I just started using the light so I can not say what the durability and longevity are, but Olight products have a reputation for quality so I am not too concerned. You can never have too many flashlight! This one is very nice, give it a try.

Very impressive light. Price is great and build quality seems equally good.
I’m a flashlight dude and have several decent lights (mostly Streamlight and Surefire) but I never had one this small, really. I love the low setting and high is very bright. The biggest selling point for me was the usb c charging as I’m on that never ending mission to live a “one charger/one cable” lifestyle. I bought about 10 of these for Christmas gifts and everyone claims they love them. (Unanimous love for the usb c charging.)

Good for what its designed for.
Excellent baby light. I'm a welder and I use it every day. I also have to charge it about every other day. Small light. good illumination for inspecting welds. durability - I have used this unit for about 6 months now. It is very nice if you want a very small light or a backup light. Recently the lower light function became more or less disabled. The advantage and weakness of this light is the threaded light intensity function. turning the light on and off rarely engages the low light option now, but will always turn on the full intensity when fully unthreaded still. function - threading the unit closed will turn the light off and protect the charging port and internals from debri/pocket lint. If you work in an environment like me with some grit and grime almost always around, the threads will wear down a bit over time, but still function surprisingly well. They come well lubricated out of the box and have not need much attention. usbc charging. really should be standard, but its a great "feature". fully charging may take about an hour, a quick charge to get it running 6 hours is very fast.
