Great skates, soft wheels
I am giving these skates 5 stars even though I have one issue with them which I'll get to. I took a chance on these skates as they are listed with no reviews at the time of writing. I was searching for a solid urban skate that was cost effective. This skate cost me $130 + tax. It's pretty hard to find a skate built like this at that price point. The skates are solid. They are a hybrid skate with laces on the bottom and buckles up top and on the ankle with a completely hard plastic shell, removable liner, and protective parts to save the skate in the case of a slide-out. The top buckle is great. The ankle buckle is a "Spyder Buckle" and doesn't get at tight as I would like but it hasn't slipped on me at all. The boot does have three holes so you can move the rails front to back but not side to side that I can tell. Everything on the boot looks good so far. The one point of contention is the wheels. The Kemistry Magnium 80mm are rated as "soft" and I can't find a durometer rating on them. If this skate is used mostly indoors or smooth concrete, this is fine. However I would imagine most people are using this skate outside and skating more aggressive and doing slides. For that reason I'm a little confused at the wheel paring with these skates. The wheels are fine and very comfortable so if you want comfort and grip you are good to go. However if you want to play street hockey or practice slides, you are probably going to replace the wheels with some 85A or harder wheels. In that case, you will be spending about $65 to do so. You can reuse the bearings so that helps but for a budget skate spending half the cost to replace the wheels is less than ideal. I'm still giving 5 stars because this isn't a flaw in the skates. Just a preference thing.

Solid skates
Bought them to replace my rollerblade lighting 90. The buckles were much better than my old skates. The bearings are not as smooth but also the skates do not cost four times. As for the brakes instruction was incomplete. You need to use all 4 axle screws on 2 brake axles otherwise they will be too short. The skates are solid.

Really Like These Skates!!
I have owned many pairs of blades, I think these are my favorite so far. I have only tried them on so far but I can tell they will be awesome just from the quality of materials and how durable they seem, it’s a plus that they’re rather edgy looking as well. I am female and had to go down a size since they’re sized in men’s. I have never used my brake, never needed it, probably won’t bother to install it. Have considered removing the ones from my other pairs just haven’t gotten around to it. However I don’t recommend that for beginners. I have noticed that people who skate in quads use the toe stop, I grew up wearing inlines, no quads. Overall, great affordable pair by Roller Derby! They make great skates, I have never had any issues with Roller Derby skates.

Nice intro skates to have fun with
These were a nice intro pair of skates. Very comfy and fun. Great bang for the buck. I switched out the wheels and bearings. Would recommend!

Don't do the brake installation with the tools they give: use your own.
First, the roller blades are excellent; I've had no problems with them. However, the reason for the 1-star rating is the brake installation. I could go on for hours about the break installation, but I'll give a short version. Please don't buy these unless you want to deal with the brakes, or you could do without them. To say the The tools and screws that come with it are horrible is an understatement, the screws were extremely difficult to put on as they just refused to come together, and the tools hurt your hand too much. Going back, the screw I couldn't put them on or in there(although one pair I could). No matter how much I pushed, they wouldn't go in. Whenever I thought I got it, they never went in. I did manage to install the brake, but it’s how I did it. I won't go into specifics as I don't know the rules but get your screws first before even attempting to use theirs save yourself the time as while the little ones they give you can connect to the other side. They took too long and too short. That will be all. I hope this helps.

Unbelievable skate for the price!
Growing up I've always had Roller Derby brand inline skates (they were always cheaper). From the Phantoms I had in my teens to the Bajas I graduated to, they have all been extremely comfortable & performed well for an intermediate skater. These have really blown me away though. A hard boot with adjustable/replaceable frame, laces & ratchets, ABEC 7 bearings (not the best but ABEC 5 is standard at this pp) and quickchange axles for less than $150 😳... I just got these yesterday and as in the past, they have not disappointed in the comfort department right away. They are extremely comfortable, making them even that much more stable. I love how everything on the skate is serviceable or replaceable. The wheels are a bit soft for an "urban" marketed and designed skate, but who cares! I ordered some higher end 82A wheels yesterday and I'm still under $200! I would recommend these skates to anyone, beginner to intermediate, looking for a great all around urban type skate that won't break the budget. Would give 6 stars if they came with 82A or harder wheels!

Very happy with the Beta Elite rollerblades. Getting back into skating after many years and this is one of the best rollerblades I've ever put on. Comfortable, snug, secure and easy to use. I find I don't need to use the laces as the boot itself is snug. I like the tapered build and slim design. Not bulky/boxy at all compared to other rollerblades. Lots of padding inside and has arch support. Only needed to wear 1 pair of socks and my feet weren't that sweaty after an hour of rollerblading. I found that it didn't need any breaking in as it is super comfy to wear. Very quiet and barely makes a noise on the pavement. They also came in with a break you can put on optionally along with tools for installing.
