An unforgettable and magical read
Once again C.J. Redwine has taken a well-known fairytale and turned it into an amazing adventure and an unforgettable and magical read. THE WISH GRANTER has all the elements of a classic fairytale – royalty, wickedness, greed, foolish choices, heroism, innocence, justice, and the hope for a happily ever after. But it offers so much more – action, suspense, a smart, strong, and immensely likable heroine, heartbreak, romance, faerie lore, depth of plot and characters, an expansive and interesting world, and a darkly appealing tone that sets the mood for this positively gripping and absolutely wonderful tale. With the queen seeking to eliminate any possible threats to her son’s future rule, Thad had no idea how he could save himself, let alone protect his sister. So when he was given the chance to save her, he took it. Even if it meant sacrificing himself to do so.But when Ari discovered the price he agreed to pay and the other costs he hadn’t been aware of, she was determined to find a way to release him from the contract. Though it wouldn’t be easy. Not when the Wish Granter had the only copy of the agreement. Not when Thad was taking dangerous risks to try and get out of the contract on his own. Not when she had nothing to bargain with. And not when she knew next to nothing about faeries and how they might be defeated.A kingdom in turmoil, a prince at risk of losing his soul, a wily princess who refuses to conform to expectations, a weapons master who is reluctantly falling in love, and a very dangerous, greedy, and power hungry faerie looking to have it all, make for an epic, enthralling, imaginative, and exciting read.C.J. Redwine infused her fairytale with more darkness, more tragedy, a more vile and wicked villain, a slew of despicable foes, and a more challenging puzzle to solve. But THE WISH GRANTER also promises more bravery, heart, ingenuity, hope, and love. While based on the story of a not-so-beloved character, this second book in the Ravenspire series is an original with a heroine who is sure to be beloved. And it is a story that can be read and thoroughly enjoyed whether or not the first in the series has been read.

Another Fantastic Fairytale Re-Telling from C.J. Redwine!
An epic fantasy, set in the same world as it's predecessor, THE SHADOW QUEEN, and given a fantastic, fairytale retelling twist. This is not the story of Rumpelstiltskin you've been told. C.J. Redwine proves once again that she is the queen of fairytale retellings.I've never been a huge fan of Rumplestiltskin, but I'm a fan of this story. I loved The Shadow Queen. Like that book, this book did not disappoint. Redwine has done such a wonderful job of taking beloved fairytales, and making them her own. Her retellings are so well written. From her characters to the world building, the magic, romance, and so much more. I really think she's found her niche with writing. I want more!I loved the depth of her characters in this book. I felt like I understood them, their choices, and the decisions they made. I rooted for them from the get go. I love that this story's underdogs are Ari and her brother Thad, who's now the new King. It was the perfect set up for Thad to prey on. This story's villain is so well written. Driven by greed and revenge, and governed by an ancient law, this villain is one you want to see get outsmarted.I really enjoyed the brother/sister relationship between Thad, and Ari. My favorite was definitely Ari. She proves she's more than fit to rule a kingdom, even if she doesn't want anything to do with it. Sure her brother is king, but she also has a role to play, even if she doesn't want to. She's kind, thinks for herself, doesn't back down from fear, does things her way, and is the kind of girl I just love. Plus this girl loves food, and I seriously admired that fact she doesn't shy away from that in this book. Ari is also the kind of heroine who you root for from the beginning, and cheer for the entire time. When it comes to romance, Redwine is queen of the slow burn. She carefully crafts it so that it naturally builds, and turns into something that ignites the pages. I loved Sebastian and Ari. I loved watching their relationship grow. I loved how they learned to trust each other, and confide in one another. I loved how they just got each other. They saw each other for who they both were.I have completely fallen in love with the world of Ravenspire. I love that this book, while it's own story, features my favorite characters from The Shadow Queen, and also takes place in the same world, though in different kingdoms. I love the world building, the characters, and all that happens in this series. I am looking forward to reading more books from this series.

I love C.J. Redwine's writing!
The Wish Granter by C. J. Redwine is a fun and suspenseful retelling of Rumpelstiltskin!Ari treats everything with humor and Thad is feeling the pressure from his granted wish. Thad has suddenly become king after he made a deal with the Wish Granter ensuring his sister will be taken care of. Little did he know that the Wish Granter always tricks and gets more out of the bargain than the people he makes deals with. Sebastian has been hired as the kingdom’s new weapons master. He’s grateful for this chance to better his life and get away from his violent father and to help his drug-addicted mother. Ari asks Sebastian to make weapons out of iron for her so she can protect Thad from the Wish Granter. Ari has also asked Sebastian to train her to use weapons to protect herself and her brother, through this the two of them become close friends. Teague discovers that Thad is working to get out of his contract, so Teague comes to collect Thad’s soul but he takes Ari prisoner instead. Sebastian braves everything that’s horribly traumatic and difficult for him, so he can get to Ari. Teague shares his background story with Ari and he tells her what his beautiful pipe is made of and it shocks her to the core. The author’s writing adds suspense, charm and intensity to the story. The Wishgranter is the second book in the Ravenspire series and it’s just as good as the first book, The Shadow Queen! 5 stars for this fairytale about Rumpelstiltskin!
