Today's controllers are extremely power hungry. Maybe it's the vibrations or some other factor--regardless, controllers today consume power faster than older iterations. Store bought AA batteries are thus a poor option. I used to go through a 6 pack of AA batteries every week! I realized I was losing a lot of money on battery purchases. Plus I was hurting the environment by using and disposing so many batteries. The Razer Charging Stand gives consumers a hassle-free and eco-friendly option for powering controllers. The stand is compact, looks cute and is a great addition to your gaming setup if you have one. I have been using this stand for months now and it is truly plug it and forget it. The charging stand does its job and has given me no troubles so far. There are two negatives that I would note with this charging stand. The first is the controller battery that comes with the product. This battery is custom made and cannot be found easily on the market. It is not easily replaceable in other words. This obsolescence by design on Razer's part is unfair to the consumer. It reduces the shelf of the charging stand. (Side note: this seems to be a feature for almost all Razer products. If the battery dies, the product dies as well.) The second con is that the stand is more expensive than its competitors. For example, you can get the XBOX Play and Charge Kit V2 (TYPE-C) for just INR 2100 or so. That's half the price compared to this charging stand! Come to think of it: this stand is almost as expensive as an Xbox controller itself. This price factor may give some gamers pause. Is the stand worth it at its price tag and with the irreplaceable battery? That depends. If you're very budget-conscious, the the answer is no. There are cheaper options out there. If money is no object and/or you're a Razer products fan, the answer is yes. The price tag is, after all, "on-brand" for Razer lol. As of this date, the charging stand is still working for me. The charging clips are quite flimsy; one of them got bent. I thought this product was damaged for good. Luckily I got it fixed and now it's working again! Have saved a lot by not buying rechargeable batteries all the time! Edit 3.1.2025: this section is for assessing the product's durability. As of this date, the charging stand is still working for me. The battery is wearing out fast and the shelf life of the stand is reaching its end. Thinking of buying a new stand soon.
