Fiskars Silicone Craft Mat (15 x 18 Inch)

I love this craft mat! I’m so glad I purchased two of them- sometimes my sister will craft with me and sometimes I like to have extra workspace.So far I’ve used it when painting, working with my hot glue gun (which always falls over), and my alcohol inks. I was really interested to see how clean up would be with those, and with just a little blending solution the inks cleaned right off the mat. You can see the before and after in the pictures I shared.I did not notice a strong odor as some other reviewers when first unboxing my craft mat, nor have I since. It is very thin, but I see no problem with this. Anything I’ve gotten on it so far has cleaned up without any issue. It does not have any stickiness on the back but it still does a good job clinging in place to my wood table. I have not had any problems with it sliding around.I am very satisfied with my purchase and am so happy not to be using wax paper, parchment paper, or plastic to protect my table anymore; this mat is so much better than any of those.

This is perfect to roll out on my crafting table. It keeps the area neat and then I can fold it up and put away. It cleans quite nicely also. Even with lots of smears on it.

I had planned to use this when water coloring, but the tape will not stick to this mat, so I only use it for heat embossing. It is a good size, it fits neatly on a wooden folded TV tray, which I place next to my drafting table in my craft room. It is good to be able to have the item lay on something when heat embossing so you don't burn your fingers.Updated 10/15/2018It is not flimsy as some have said. I moved it to my solid working table and have been able to get washi tape to stick to it for watercoloring and inking. It is sticky to hold your cardstock or waterpaper in place. It is an abosultue must have in your craft room. Great for stamping on too

I agree with other sellers on the smell, but letting it air-out outside did the trick. I think it will be great for me as I was using plastic placemats to try to help cover my work area. And they moved all over the place.UPDATE: Have been using for several months now and the smell only lasted a little while. It does move on my work surface but I still would not trade it for any other. I have seriously been thinking about buying another and cutting it to use as a mirror image for card making. It looks like it would work. Has anyone else tried it????

Great for doing jewelry work over, so anything I drop kinda sticks to the mat and doesn't roll off into oblivion. Keeps my table tidy when I'm painting things or sanding wood or weeding cricut stencils. Great size, great price, and I love that there is a ruler printed onto the mat.

I saw this advertised in an online class decided to try it. After using it a few times, I wonder why I didn't buy one of these years (or decades) ago. Cleanup is much easier in general, both wet and dry, as long as you make sure the right side is up. (Ask me how I figured that out, lol) I used it for paint, a hot glue gun mat, and even for watercolor marker blending. If you do any messy crafts, you need this in your life. Now I want one to cover my entire kitchen table. 😊

I love this mat! It’s easy to clean and keeps my desk clean as well. I love doing mixed media but I hate how messy it gets and this mat keeps all that paint of my desk. Once I’m done I just run the mat under water and the mat is as good as new. No more wet wipes for me.

I chose this mat as an alternative because the best ever craft mat, the one I wanted, was out of stock.It performs its intended purpose.The issue is the strong chemical smell. It’s a toxic, headache inducing odor.Repeated washings in the kitchen sink haven’t lessened the odor, not eliminated the offending stench.I can smell it throughout my apartment. I have decided take the mat to the dumpster as soon as I finish this review.I used the mat and it worked great. Dried glue peeled off and there was minimal staining with inks.
