Swan Lake

The "Swan Lake" hardcover illustrated by Lisbeth Zwerger is utterly disappointing !...The illustrations are dark and unappealing for children, the characters are tiny and seem lost in an immensity of murky landscape pretending to be "atmospheric", and the drawings don't always match the text...The story itself is badly written, the end NOT CLEAR - suicide is alluded to, but then discarded - and futile details - like the color of the bridesmaids' dresses at the potential royal wedding - are included, which add nothing substantial to the story, but only muddle it further...Extremely disappointing purchase, uninteresting for adults let alone kids... Returned.

I've been gathering copies of books which Lizbeth Zwerger illustrated for my great niece. Can't go wrong. Lovely book.

Beautiful book in every way

1) difficult to keep open 2)some important variation (black swan) and pa de d are missing. 3) this is not expensive edition, so you get what you pay for.

I was very impressed by the low price for this item, the quick delivery and, more than anything, the fact that it was the score for the whole ballet and not just excerpts. The only thing stopping my giving 5 stars was the so-called 'perfect ' binding which makes a pianist's life extremely difficult!
