Overall excellent book, gives a good perspective, should come out it with volume-2

It is a stunning and fun book for a child. I enjoy reading facts from it too but.. I thought it was an adult book just like the History of the world in 100 plants!

My children (5 and 11) absolutely love animals and I am a sucker for a well illustrated hardback book that we can pass on to further grandchildren for years to come and this book is beautiful. The illustrations are unbelievable. So well drawn and attractive.The idea of the book and the 100 animals chosen are great and well thought out.My children loved the book and we had a deal to read 10 animals a night after bath time until complete. Time reading to my children is a joy so precious to me.The only thing about this book I really dislike is the font size. Neither me nor my husband wear glasses or have any vision issue but both really struggled to read this unless sat directly on under a ceiling light. The font is so small.
