Figured I would give these a shot on some expensive custom hats I had made. The company I got them from had fantastic hats that didn’t collapse until they went cheap and started buying foreign crap. I was stuck with all these hats that collapsed after a few wearings. I tried a few things but didn’t care for them much. I was really hesitant to buy these expensive pieces of simple foam board because it sounded like a rip off. Well, it sort of is for what they are and how few you get but I”ll be damned, the son of a guns work! I fixed three hopeless hats that I loved but was ready to toss and I am going to buy enough for a dozen more hats. I think they should be included by every hat manufacturer when they are sold. For 30 cents they could save a customer from getting pissed off if the included one.

I liked that this product did help to shape my floppy cadet hat. It worked so no problem with that. A possible problem is that I am an allergic person. I have eczema on my forehead which requires occasional steroid cream to control. I am sensitized to various synthetic materials and other things like wool. The reason that I am posting this is that I may have gotten a mild outbreak of eczema on my forehead as a reaction. I am not sure at this point whether or not it was skin contact with this product. I will post a follow-up after I wear the hat more times, to see if this was what caused the mild eczema on my forehead. If your forehead skin is vulnerable to eczema, you might want to be watching out for mild irritation. After writing this I went on holiday and wore this thing every day in hot weather. I am able to see that this product did not make my eczema worse. It must have been a coincidence.
