You Can't Beat the Price
It was exactly as described, and since it's small, the sound does not sound like the "gong" sound effect that you hear in every movie set in Asia, but more like a brassy bell. But it worked great for my purpose (the "time's up" sound in a storytelling contest) and I'm glad I went with this one instead of a higher-end one.

Stage prop. Worked for my intentions. The gong sound is a bit high pitched due to its size.

i use these as nerf targets. perfect size and hearing that tone is pretty rewarding. i have like 5 of them so far.

Mallet arrived broken
The wooden mallet is cheaply made and arrived broken. The gong itself is nice and produces a decent sound.

For all your on the go gong needs
Need a portable gong? This will work nicely, seems sturdy enough. I recommend wrapping some sort of tape around the mallet to get a better less tinny sound. I used electrical tape. Get your gong on.
