Great length and quality build vs the cheaper, shorter cord shipped with my new HiFiMan phones
My HiFiMan headphones died after five years, so I replaced them via AMZN and the cord that came with them was cheap feeling and way too short. This set of cords works great, plenty of length and solid connections.

Pretty good..
So, the reason why I purchased this cable is because of my level of annoyance with the twisted/braided cable that came with my HarmonicDyne Athenas. That was forever getting snagged and yanking the phones nearly off my head. Since this is a single strand, this cable doesn't have that issue at all. The sound quality seems to be on par with the stock HarmonicDyne cable. The length is good BUT it gets tangled really easily. It doesn't loop well and gets easily twisted. Rather than a cloth covering, this feels more like a plastic and it's really rough. Asthetically, sonically, and economically, it's pleasing which makes it good where it counts. I just find the texture/wrapping to be annoying. YMMV!

Very good quality wire. I needed a replacement cable, but with a different plug. I replaced the two plugs on the headphone side, and the wires inside look very nice and high quality. The wire is flexible enough, and the length is just what i need. And finally, but probably most importantly the sound quality. As the jack is gold plated, the connection is perfect for both the 3.5 and 1/4 plug, and I cannot hear any different between this cable and the original that came with my headphone.

Should be a required purchase for Hifiman Sundara's
Just buy it. There you go. It's durable, feels nice, and makes my $300 headphones actually sounds like $300 headphones. Now for the more nuanced stuff. Clarity is a genuine improvement over the stock cable- along with imaging. I can hear more, not everything, but it's so much more clear. It genuinely made my 6/10 Sundara's sound like a 8/10. Songs like "Crush" by Tessa Vilot I can FINALLY hear the piano crushing in the chorus, "If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)" is another massive clarity upgrade where it finally feels more on par with my HD600s rather than flat and lifeless like before. Is this cable perfect? No. Is it genuinely outstanding for the price? You betch'a

Flexible cable, reasonable quality, good price
I'm sure a lot of people looking at this cable are not capable of discerning the very highest discrepancies in sound quality. Heck, most of the people that say they can actually can't. I'm sure a lot of people are just looking for a replacement for their Hifiman cable. That's what I was looking for, that's what I got. It's a lot longer than the default cable which means I'm not so restricted at my computer. Threw on some music and to me it sounds great. The stretch of cable closest to your head is not braided, which is annoying. It makes it look a little inconsistent. But only time will tell if that is really a downside or not. One potentiality is that it stiffens like the original did with time and exposure to skin oils and sweat.

It works, but you can't touch the cable.
Cable microphony is extremely high; feedback whenever adjusting cable makes it unusable. It does the job if you're not going to touch the cable or the connection, but it's going to be something you have to watch out for. In this price range, there's definitely better options. This was with the HiFiMan Arya Stealth, if it's relevant to you, but given the physical limitations of the cable I think it's going to be consistent across.
