I have had many of these adaptors since Apple decided to remove the headphone sockets from their products. Some Apple originals and others, some good, some awful. Build quality is important, the Apple ones are thin cabled and have a tendency to fracture after a short while, especially if used for exercise, running etc. This product is more rugged, slightly larger, and looks like it will take more punishment but I haven't had it long enough to test that. You might think this is just a converter from one kind of socket to another but it's much much more and that's why they vary so much in audio quality. Inside the lightning plug end is a digital to analogue audio converter (DAC) as it's just digital info that exits the phone. The resultant analogue audio then needs to be amplified to feed your headphones. In addition to DAC and amp there's logic circuitry to deal with handshakes with the phone's software and power connections too. All inside that little plug! Many cheap 'knock-offs' have dreadful DACs and amplifiers and can sound really nasty. I'm using this one with an iPhone 14 pro and some top end Shure headphones and I think it may sound slightly better than the Apple original and certainly has more gain, which is a bonus as Apple seem to be all about not letting us listen to our music at reasonable levels. At half the price of the aforementioned, what's not to like. Buy these, no hesitation, they're as good as anything out there.

Used to connect my digital piano and iPad (with another device) so I can listen to both at the same time! Works perfectly!

One of the headphone adapter stopped working completely in less than 3 months from purchase. It seems to have a loose connection and no sound coming from the headphones.

Seems well made & does work BUT check this in your circumstance:- iPhone recognises it as a USB device (NOT as earphones) which is ok if you plug in directly to phone. I use a battery case on my phone which correctly recognises a direct connected lightning earphone to play audio through. However using this 3mm-lightning converter with both Apple & generic 3mm earphones does not allow audio throughput. Just bear that in mind. Borrowed an older converter and that works properly through my battery case, so there is a fault with this model.

Disappointed in this. Yes, they work but at very low volumes - like an audiobook, there is a lot of background hiss.
