Worth the price tag
This is one of the best DVD collections I have seen. Unlike other editions with poor quality scans, this one has all the comic groups represented. Some of the comics, especially the Gold Key series are older, but the scans are good enough to read. Same was true with some of the graphic novels on the higher quality papers. The reflection was not to much a bother to the reading and enjoyment of the books. You'll see all the ones you missed without having a room to keep them in. I paticularly enjoy the run at DC comics. That was because they had a longer run of consistant stories and art.The new IDW comics aren't bad. However, they are not included. The ones from 1967 (the Gold Key era) to 2002 (Malibu and Marvel) in 2002 are part of this DVD. For the most part the IDW ones are like looking at story boards for upcoming films. I do like the fact that John Byrne from Marvel and DC comics is on art chores. The material that's being adapted does not match the comics that are on this disk. For all it's worth, I can't get over the fact that 500 issues are one one disc with ads! I have lots of memories of this time in my life. I get to see all the Trek comics I missed collecting and can fill all the gaps in with this DVD!

For Classic Trek, this is TOE (The Original Ephemera)
I bought this strictly for the 61 classic Gold Key comics, and it's well worth the price for these alone! As a "bonus," there are hundreds of additional books to explore. But I was hesitant to buy this DVD for 2 reasons, so let me just address those concerns for other would-be buyers. First, these have NOT been packaged into an unmanageable, locked-down digital interface. Each comic book is its own, distinct PDF file, so you can easily pick the ones you want and put them on a device of your choice. (In particular, there is no problem moving these to an iPad!) Second, contrary to what some reviewers have warned, I found the image quality of the Gold Key issues superb. If you're accustomed to the glossy, higher-quality art that comics have become, then these might pale by comparison. But in the late 60's and 70's, comic books didn't look particularly good even brand new. Poor registration, blotchy color, and bleed-through from other pages was the norm. These are crisp, clear images with excellent resolution -- not at all compromised in comparison to actual vintage issues. Zooming in on the iPad looks great!

Well it works on Widows 10 !
I got this item because I’m a collector of Star Trek. The item works pretty good on Windows 10 but I can not figure out why. I have a old desktop HP with XP running on it just in case it didn't work on my new computer. I must say it looks very nice on my touch screen and it gives me lots of reading pleasure if you're into the old Gold Key comics. BUT this gives you a whole lot more!!! The set up is formatted to give you two pages at a time to read but it does not hamper the reading just remember to read the left side first then the right side. This was purchased as a Star Trek collectible and it would have got FIVE stars rating but the display box it came in was crushed. The seller gave it to me at half price for the damaged box!! So let’s make it be a True Five Star Review! Thank-You Kind Seller on Amazon!!!!

Cool to own but with flaws
When I saw how cheap this was I decided to jump on this product; I mean at this price what can be bad about decades worth of comics on a single disc. The best part is that somehow they managed to get all the different Trek comics over the years from all the different publishers on a single DVD. This is a cool accomplishment and the main selling point for the set. When you get the set, what you will basically get is a DVD filled with PDFs. The PDFs are scans of the issues. The quality sadly isnt even so great, I was annoyed by the splash pages (a image that takes up two pages) because they didnt even line up properly. I have seen amateur scans of comics that actually look better then what is presented here. The biggest problem is the lack of a real menu system. The closest you get to a menu system is a pdf with 'links" which leads to another PDf that eventually links you to the issue you want. Becuase of no real menu system, the only search function is through the adobe reader itself (which doesnt even work that well at all). Additionally if you use a alternative to adobe like I often do, it makes it even harder to navigate and find what you want.At least since everything is in PDF format there is no copy protection, so you can do with the files as you please, including moving them onto a device like a ipad (which is great for reading comics). This is a slight plus but does not make up for the lack of a true menu system. On a side note does anyone remember the old Mad Magazine collection put out awhile ago (the 7 CD one, not the newer one); that original collection had a great custom built interface which allowed you to throughly search through every issue. You type a word and it searches for every refrence to that word throughtout al the issues. This is how I wish the Trek collection was setup. In short this set seems like it was something just put together as cheaply as possible. It also turns me off from buying any other complete sets from Marvel which use the same PDF system this collection does.I still gave the set 4 star because it gave me every issue of trek for a great low price; even though your unlikely to read most of the issues it's a cool thing to own. If your a Star Trek fan, especially a fan of their comics then I strongly suggest getting this, regardless of its flaws.
