A Journey to Discover Unconditional Love
"Loving another person is not separate from loving God. One is a single wave, the other is the ocean." ~ Deepak ChopraIn "The Path to Love," Deepak Chopra blends modern day wisdom with ancient insight and myths. This is a reflective study of love's many stages (from romantic love to spiritual love) and as Deepak reveals the many nuances he also explains the spiritual goal of life. This book uncovers the reasons love is healing while anger and hate can be fatal. There are quite a few case studies and the book is structured around stories of people struggling with everything from marital issues to questions about reality itself. Deepak acts as a psychologist who is solving issues one after the other. His clients have breakthroughs and each conversation reveals something new."Love and spirit are forming a connection every time you meditate on the heart, starting with the first time." ~ Deepak ChopraFor the most part this book reads like a comforting conversation with a trusted friend. There are instructions for a heart meditation. Then, a few questionnaires are included for your enlightenment. While this is not technically a workbook, it could be said that the contents of the book will change you as you answer the questions and discover hidden secrets about yourself.~The Rebecca Review

Good Product: Poor Service
I have this book and find it to be one of the most wonderful approaches to explaining the loss of authentic love in our lives. This might be Deepak Chopra's best book yet and his brilliant insights into the notion of romantic love as one that's grounded in spirit, are wonderful. It goes a long way in explaining where love has fallen apart in our Western Tradition--we've limited our own understanding of the complexities of love and we've failed to see its connection to spirit. I highly recommend it for everyone who wants to better understand love as a theory and a critical (pun intended) practice. However, I cannot recommend the service provided by Amazon and its vendor when I placed a second order for the book. After my order was placed (and charged to my credit card), I was notified that it would not ship for about two weeks. Then, I was told that I could not change my order. Indeed, I did change it by writing to the vendor and asking to have it canceled. Turns out, she (vendor) was able to ship the book sooner, and, in fact, was on her way to ship it when she discovered my email message. But, her tone with me in her email response was so offensive, that I asked her to cancel my order, remove the charge from my card;and recommended that she have a discussion with Amazon.Clearly the two vendors were giving out conflicting information. I think, however, that what will remain with me is her tone in her message. I was so offended that I will not order from this vendoragain and I extend my offense to Amazon as well. No customer should have to endure this amount of grief with a vendor for reasons beyond his/her control. Amazon and Ginger: Get it together here. There are other booksellers on the internet and the competition is pretty fierce.Dr. Jane

Dirty and used
I havent read it yet and am very excited to. But the book came used and dirty. The sides of the pages were stained, pages were folded with some markings and writings and the cover could use a good wipe.Overall still excited to read it.

A Holistic View of Love
Deepak Chopra approaches relationshipa and love in this book in a way that only he can. Combining physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual elements, Chopra explores why we love, what love is, and how we can love each other. The book explores and discusses both romantic and spiritual love - and while the emphasis is on a "traditional" male-female relationship - the book transcends that emphasis into love of self and love of God. A combination of philosophy, stories and practical exercies, meditations and self-questioning sessions make the book interactive and add depth to the reading experience. The flow is a little disjointed, and it does move a little slowly at times as Chopra introduces a smorgasbord of literary and scriptural references into the narrative. However, it is worth the time and you will certainly gain new perspectives on yourself.

Capable of warming the coldest of hearts.
Long ago I was in a traumatic situation that caused me to close up and avoid love. I remembered reading this book which helped me years ago but then decided (after much procrastination) to finally order the book a second time.I have something called PTSD that also contributed to my cold heartedness. If you are looking for something to help HEAL the heart and become open to love once again, this book is for you.I also got this book because I needed a break from reference books, something I'm prone to buying. This book actually tells stories on love and encourages the welcoming of love. Not only that, but it also opens the mind and reminds you of what love truly is. Something I believe I had forgotten over time or possibly dismissed as setting myself up into vulnerability in order to get hurt. Not so.I highly recommend this book to everyone, particularly those who have lacked the ability to acknowledge their higher self and the ability to love.

A life changing book!!
This book was recommended to me by a very good friend of mine who had very positive things to say. I bought this book to see for my self what all the hype was about, and ended up having my whole world turned up side down by his beautiful lessons and lovely way of writing. I considered myself to be a very enlighten spiritual individual before this read, but this book took me to a whole other dimension of light and love that I didn't even know was possible. Call me dramatic, but this book changed my life by providing me a peace of mind, motivating me to open the everlasting eternal love that we all have flowing through us. This book is appealing to everyone no matter what religion or belief, because it covers the core of human nature. You won't be dissap

Absolutely fabulous book (most wonderful opening chapter) - penned with deep love and understanding!
This is a fantastic book - it is not overly technical. Rather, it is a showcase for Deepak's wonderful storytelling skills as he expounds his take on the seven steps (as he sees it) on the path to love. While you may disagree with this linear/stepwise approach (and I prefer a more holistic and cyclical approach to the issue of love), it is hard to dispute the fact that Deepak is a profoundly wise man and his points are always well-made. Anyone with an interest in love of any kind should read this book. Guys, I am thinking particularly of you. Ladies, you will not be disappointed. This is a first-class piece of work, obviously from the heart, and so moving. It is certainly the best book on the issue of love I have read (apart from the Holy Bible). Very highly recommended!

If only I had read this sooner...
As I am still coming to terms with my divorce (several years down the line), this book really does explain so many issues that I never really gave much thought to before. Whether you are looking for the love of your life, or coming to terms with a lost love, I am sure that this book can help you. You don't have to be deeply into Spirituality in order to appreciate or learn from Deepak Chopra's wisdom either, as everything is laid out in such a logical way that you will want to read more, more, more...

Just wonderful
This is one of the most profound books I have ever read. Deepak brings together his knowledge of psychiatry, his scientific knowledge and a really deep understanding of the nature of spiritual contact. Things like "the oceanic experience" - the instant realisation of "God" through amazing beauty; the way that some really great music touches the soul deeply - I could list the things which touch me in that way, but won't because it might bore people. Just read the book and give thanks for it. Amazing.

A lot to learn in a heart-warming way
To begin with I found this book a little difficult to read and get into, I felt his language was a little too flowery, and some of it didn't make a lot of sense as many times as I would read the sentence over and over to make sense. Also his slight contradiction on soul mates where he said no one is waiting for us, but then in chapter 6 speaks of something similar in the union of marriage??That said, it did shed a light on the ability to love myself, and ways to do this, which I found extremely useful, because I am loved and loveable. It brings more confidence to look at myself.Although i must say, i did miss out chapters 6 and 7 simply because i felt they were a bit too 'coupley', for someone who is in relationship, but apart from that, I did feel like this did give me insight to myself as a person and on a spiritual level. So what i'm saying, as i progressively got into this book and found it rather enjoyable.

Pleasantly suprised
I never read anything by Deepak Chopra and chose this on good reviews from Hay House, which I adore! It was informative and a good read. Reminds you to be true to yourself and not your ego! Read on way to work and home and feel better in myself, and self esteem! Will be keeping this and recommending to friends.
