Great price and quality of material
Great price and quality. Such a versatile piece of equipment. I bit heavy for ultralight backpacking but worth the extra few ounces for the quality

Great first impression
So let me just start by saying that I bout this about a month ago but haven't had a chance to use it on the trail yet. However I will say that I have gotten a great first impression from this fly. The materials seem to be high quality, I haven't seen a fly out there that is this light, this cheap, and this well made! definitely looking forward to more from this company. I will be making a trip our west later this summer and will be testing it then if not sooner So update, I was able to test this out unexpectedly this week. I was laying in my hammock in my backyard and noticed a storm heading my way so I decided to grab my rain fly and test it out before my trip to the Tetons later this summer. I only had a few minutes to set it up and consequently had quite a bit of slack in the ridge line. Despite this, I still stayed perfectly dry and was quite thrilled with this Fly. I live on a hill and while this storm only lasted about 30 minutes, the wind was very very strong and I was surprised how well it worked. If I had actually been on the trail i definitely would've needed my backpack covered as some rain did go hit the ground under me. If I was able to set the Fly with one sit facing the storm this may not have been an issue but i did not have the option to do so. Regardless i stayed dry and my hammock stayed dry so I am very pleased and will definitely take this out West.

Lots of nice features. Well thought out.
Just used one for a 6 day camping trip in the Adirondacks. Its rained 3 of the days and I stayed bone dry. The gap between trees was the barely longer than my ENO hammock so using this the "proper" way it was actually too long just for that specific application. I spun it 90° and ran the shorter span over my hammock and it was about 4 inches longer on each end than my hammock. I stayed bone dry in fairly heavy rain so I imagine if it was oriented the proper way it would be even better. The edge of the fly has reflective silver material all the way around and the paracord provided has reflective material woven in. Made finding my stuff in the dark easier. Awesome product and at awesome price. I'm tempted to buy a second just to have for when this one kicks it but it seems nice and durable so that probably wont be for some time.

A Fantastic Starting Tarp for Hammock Camping
I ordered this tarp for a friend of mine putting together a hammock camping setup from scratch. The price was fantastic and with that in mind, this tarp is an incredible value with a few draw backs. I bought the gray and orange version which looks really nice and is easy to match other products to. It came with all the line needed as well as 2 stakes to tie it down. They are not pictured because I bought my own paracord before realizing it was included. If you are curious about starting to hammock camp and don’t want to invest a lot of money right now, this is a great way to start. Here’s what I like. This tarp was put to the use when a 4:30AM rain storm rolled in during our camping trip. It was a decent rain and my buddy stayed completely dry. It did its job and it did it perfectly. The seems didn’t seem to leak at all and the water just rolled right off. Here’s what I don’t like. This tarp can only be used in one layout (the diamond setup pictured). There are no extra grommets or tie offs to arrange this differently (I personally like an A frame configuration). The material is pretty thin which is great for back packing and its small pack size however I’m not positive how durable its going to be long term. My personal tarp is a Kelty Noah 12’ Tarp so that’s what I am comparing this to. My last criticism is that I would like it to be a little bigger. This is great for starting out but my personal preference is a little bigger. Final Thoughts: I would 100% recommend this product. It looks great and is easy to setup and pack away. My criticism doesn’t mean I don’t like the product, it’s just my opinion on what I would prefer.

Works good, 2nd one we’ve bought. Stakes could be better but we have others we use.

Love this company!
First, I'm a backpacking enthusiast who is always looking for high quality gear at a good price. I was introduced to Bear Butt by a colleague in a a aviation search and rescue organization that I belong to. Bear Butts quality is, in my opinion, right up there with the big names in Hammocks. I don't by crap gear, so the number one reason I will by from Bear Butt again is that I am now convinced they sell an honestly durable product. I have so far purchased a hammock and two rain fly's (own for a friend) from this company. But now here is the cool factor. They are a little start up company out of Utah. The go out of their way to make their business practices very open and straight forward. Their customer service is very personal. I'm not a big user of social media, but I do follow the business owner on Snapchat. He regularly posts stuff about the day to day operations of the company, and it's cool to watch, because it makes you feel very connected with the company. Maybe this is me just being a cheesy millennial, but I actually enjoy the Snapchat...😀 In conclusion, value (great quality at a low price) is why I will buy more gear from Bear butt. There are a lot of other companies with high quality gear, but they are double the cost.

Well designed!
I just purchased this rain fly to use with my current camping hammock and we just got back from our first trip. I was really impressed with how it worked. It packs into a small size without having to refold and reroll it - this was more compact than my last one. Setting it up was very simple and the stakes provided were great quality. It was pretty windy the first afternoon and they did not budge. That night we got rain for a good part of the night with not a single leak even along the stitching. When set up the size was perfect to keep me dry. I camp regularly and dedicated to hammock camping. I’d definitely recommend this one.

Just buy it, great value
Cant't beat it for the money. Surprisingly good coverage. The first time using the diagonal configuration i was a little skeptical. I use this over an ENO doublenest with a structural ridgeline to give me a flatter lay (so it is a little shorter than without the ridgeline). I have about a foot and a half of coverage past the caribiners at each end. I have taken this thing through a torrential downpour and stayed perfectly dry. If its blowing and rainy things might get dicey depending on orientation and how much other protection you have. But for the money, i dont know if you can beat it. Incredibly quick setup too. Sometimes I will use my Kelty Noah 12 for more protection, but i just grab this 90% of the time. It is the size of a 1L Nalgene and i love that.
