Smaller but great item for soapers
This is a good smaller mold and as such it will be perfect for making the sampler bars and smaller bars of soap we will be marketing. It was packaged well. My only recommendation would be to secure the wood box with a rubber or other strap prior to pouring in your soap, since the wood is a lightweight wood, until you have worked with it a few times.I am using an old shoulder bag strap, which allows me to cinch it up and hold tension onto the mold. The CAVITY dimensions are 10.0 inches L x 2.75 inches W x 3.1 inches H. I made a batch of HP soap last night and after I unmold and clean it today, I will be making a batch of M & P soap. This was just as economical as buying direct from China, without the 4 week shipping time and I do recommend it. For an idea of what size soap you can get out of it, it is about equal in size and weight as Ivory Regular or Irish Spring. You should be able to get between 9 and 10 bars per loaf cutting at 1 inch widths. I just now (7:33 AM Central Daylight Time) checked it, and the soap was hardened, so I unmolded it and the loaf came right out with no problem and nice clean edges. If you desire rounded edges, you can do this with either a soap beveler OR a dollar store vegetable peeler. My cutting mold has a built in beveler, but I have also successfully beveled the edges with a vegetable peeler, it is your choice. All in all a good product and good for the price. Softer Pine wood, measurements slightly different, but nice
The silicone is good quality, flexible yet seems strong. The box is pine; I would have preferred a stronger wood for durability. The workmanship seems good, however. The measurements on my box do not match those in the description. The box itself measures nearly 11" long, 3.5 " wide, and 3" deep. Also good to remember that the cavity size is significantly reduced by the thickness of the wood for the box walls, and the silicone. The cavity is 10 and 1/8" long, 2.75" wide, and 3 1/8" deep,

Really simplified my soapmaking process!
I don't know how I survived without this mold. When I started making soap I used silicone molds for cooking breads, etc. My husband made me boxes to reinforce them and keep the sides from bowing out, but the soaps always required a moderate amount of trimming and shaping. With this I can remove the loaf of soap after a day or two and simply slice. It has simplified my soap-finishing process considerably. The silicone insert is great quality - better than the baking ones I was using as far as not retaining scent or glitter. The wood is light but sturdy enough for the support needed. I will be purchasing more - one is not enough!

Dimensions are 2.9" x 3.1", not 3.9" x 3.1"
The english dimensions are wrong on the image. It says 3.9" but it is really 2.9". In my haste, I didn't pay attention to the metric dimensions. Thus, it will produce a square bar, versus a rectangular bar, which is what I wanted. But for the price, it is a decent mold.. The contruction of the wood mold is fine, too. It is just not what I wanted, but will likely keep it, since the it appears to be a good deal. Update: I initially gave this 3 stars, but changed it to a 4 since this seller is giving a much better deal than other sellers. This error on the image seems to also be consistant with every other seller on Amazon. Update again, changed to 5 after using it. Makes a great bar and I think I prefer the square look over the rectangular. Depending on how high you fill it, you can easily get 4 oz bars.

Perfect for small batches; not recommended for oven processing
This is perfect for making small batches of soap. I think it will hold around 2lbs. Ok, so I haven't used it yet; but it would be best suited for cold or hot process soap-- not CPOP or oven processing because the seams are glued, not nailed. The silicone lining fits into the mold perfectly and is well made. Like another reviewer said, it is great for testing new recipes.

The wood is a little weak and I don't expect a long useful life from the product
Works okay. The wood is a little weak and I don't expect a long useful life from the product. Also, the size fo the bar produced by cutting the molded soap in 12 equal pieces is too wide; meaning it doesn't fit in the palm of the hand very well without a bunch of carving and cutting.

Great starter soap mold
This mold is okay. It worked for what I needed. It's a good starter soap mold. I definitely wouldn't use the silicon liner by itself. But overall, it's decent.
