Car Audio USB AUX Input Adapter with Bluetooth Handsfree for Toyota

I have a stock 2006 lexus rx330. This was extremely easy to install. I wanted to keep my system stock because i like the lexus simplicity. The stereo system still sounds great and works extremely well. The steering wheel buttons were compatible. Besides- i hate modern car screens! The bluetooth system works and sounds great with extremely clean phone calls. The microphone that came with it works well. No need to switch to a more expensive mic. My friend was stoked and ordered one for her car. No need for the ridiculous giant apple car plays, etc. This does the exact same thing! But costs way less and you can keep your system factory. -----3 months later: It is still working well. 98% of the time it beeps on when I start the car. But every once in a while I have to reconnect my bluetooth on my phone if I was using my phone before I started the car.

I opted to purchase a returned unit for my 2006 Highlander, to save a little money. What I received looked like new. The install was easy, thanks to videos on YouTube. The only glitch is that the connector was very, very tight in the socket on the back of the deck. In fact, it's so tight that I don't think that I was able to fully seat it. I let it go as good enough because it worked, and the alternative was to remove the entire audio deck to look closely at what was going on. I was anxious to finish, and I figured the connector was so tight that it would not pop out. If it does I can easily dive in again - it's easy enough. The install of the mic on the window post was easy and effective. Performance: Great! - so much better than having a single CD player and a wobbly cassette deck. All sources work well, including Bluetooth, USB thumb drive and Aux cable. Controls work from the steering wheel and the deck. For the thumb drive I can index forward and back through folders using the deck controls, and through tracks using the track control on the deck or steering wheel. Bluetooth operation is easy to set up and it reconnects automatically. Incoming calls on Bt interrupt the music and are easily answered or ignored. The other party in the phone says I come through loud and clear. By keeping the phone volume up the deck volume is reasonable and does not blast me out when I switch to radio. I use Bt almost exclusively, so I'm a bit shaky about how to switch between it and USB or Aux. One thing I haven't tried is playing through Aux while charging the phone. If there is a grounding problem it may show up then. But I may never do that, because I can't access the phone through the deck controls when using Aux in. One other challenge for me is enabling hands free dialing with my old Android phone. I haven't tried all the possibilities there. Bottom line: I love this thing. Very happy. Update, Oct 2022: Everything still works as when new, with a few new discoveries. First, the phone connects to the Bt shortly after turning on the car key, even if the deck is not switched on - a surprise. And it stays connected even if I have not selected CD/1, the mode on the deck to play the Bt source. In those situations, if I were to receive a call I don't believe I would get any notification, because the phone would be outputting to the Bt that is not connected to the deck amp and speakers. So if I don't want to listen to the phone over Bt, but I want to receive calls, I have to turn off Bt on my phone and take calls on the phone, i.e. not hands free. Consequently, almost always, I listen to music from my phone played over Bt to my car deck. I was pleased to learn that, if my music/podcast app is on pause when I get into the car, then I can resume play by using the track controls on my steering wheel. I don't need to open my phone. I can have the phone dial up a contact from my address book by using voice command. Mine is a 3 year old Android phone running under OS version 8. A newer phone might have even more control capabilities. Bottom line: I am still very pleased with this setup.

I installed this system in the back of my 2005 Camry radio. I tucked it away inside the dash for clean look. The Bluetooth connection works PERFECT with music. The only issue in that category is that when you get a call, you must turn the volume higher than the music.. when the call ends the music resumes loudly. The provided lighting cable did not work on my iPhone 7 Plus. My phone chimes when I plugged it in, but no power being put into it at all. Aux worked as well. But I ended up not plugging that in since I want it to be purely Bluetooth. The provided microphone also works well, the person on the other side can hear me just fine... but it still be improved. The owners manual seemed like it was directly translated from its original language, since it made no sense. I had to mess with it to figure it out. This was a great 60$ investment, not only I don’t have to waste money buying a new radio with Bluetooth and all sorts of extra accessories to make it work, I also retained my steering wheel controls! This is an early review. I will update it after a month use.

It worked in my 2005 Toyota Sequioa Limited with Navigation and DVD system. The seller warned that it does not work with cars that has navigation and dvd. It's true. Sort of. When I try to connect my bluetooth from my iphone 11, they paired, but stays only on DVD movie mode. But it did stream the music from one of our new iPhone 13 phones just fine with decent volume. Oh, and the reason why I got it working even though the manufacturer said it won't work with systems with dvd and navigation is BECAUSE I actually had a dvd in the player. I'll explain why this worked, sort of. The DVD movie is actually in idle mode, or just not playing the movie, but I can hear the idle mode song playing in the bg(I found a dvd that does not have an idle mode song and gonna try that. Should work, and then theoretically, I can stream music from the iphones.. Its a work around). Also, this new bluetooth 5 doesn't seem to like my iPhone 11, or so I thought. My phone recognized it and connected but won't stream from it, but I found that it's actually streaming music from iPhone11, but the volume is WAY WAY too low. I turned up the volume all the way and I heard the music from my phone. So basically, it will stream fine from a newer phone, but not so fine from an older phone, AND as long as the dvd player is on with some dvd inserted... I know this problem only applies to those of us with an old nav and dvd movie system in an old car so it's not a big deal. I found a work around at least. Oh well, at least I got it working somewhat. Will have to wait till a new device comes out I guess, but works for now. Update- got it working. But it took several tries. As mentioned before, i got it to work despite the fact that I have a nav and a dvd player, but I was having volume issues. Found out why. Apparently, all iphones were connecting, but depending on what kind of dvd I put in, the volume level varies. Some dvd will drastically reduce the volume from the music stream, while some dvd will play the music at normal acceptable volume. I dont know if all this is helpful to anyone, but I finally found a dvd that works. I ended up with one of the Lost series dvd, that didnt seem to have an idle music, and we can hear the music stream at an acceptable level. Phew. I can live with this for a while now

Easy setup and works as designed

Great little bluetooth module. I installed this in my 2004 4runner with the JBL package and it worked flawlessly. Not sure what the other are talking about when referring to the cord length or module being hard to hide... I put it behind the AC controls to disguise the wires and drilled a little hole in the ashtray next to the 12v adapter to feed the aux through. Haven't had to use the Aux yet, I connected my Iphone 16 Pro once and it's connected every since as soon as I start her up! I was on the fence of paying double the price of the competitors of this product but glad I did. The product is a flimsy little box and looks like it would break easily if dropped or messed with too often but as long as you set it and forget it I don't see a problem with it. The clarity is solid, you kinda have to mess with your phone controls and the radio controls to get it just right but once you get it there it's fine. Design overall is pretty solid. This kit does work with the JBL package.

I really hate writing negative reviews, but here goes, I bought this really hoping it would work. It was installed in a 2007 Toyota RAV4, (The Installation was a piece of cake just requiring a 10mm socket, a Phillips screwdriver and a small pry tool, a magnetic pick-up tool also comes in handy.) Unfortunately once everything was connected, Phone calls emitted a hissing noise, the Bluetooth streaming was worse with the hissing overpowering the music, checked and re-checked connections to make sure everything was connected properly, didn't find anything wrong, tried again, same results. I've since went with a Kenwood Bluetooth CD player upgrading the Factory radio altogether, No Hiss, No interference, both music and phone calls are crystal clear and for about the same cost give or take a few dollars. I really wanted this product to work, But on my unit, I think there was a problem with the main unit itself, In the end I'm happy with the Upgrade. From other reviews I've read, these units seem to be Hit or Miss and mine it seems was a Miss, YMMV.

2ND GEN TACOMA OWNERS: Great solution for Bluetooth in your truck. The port that this plugs into on the back of your unit will probably be occupied but it’s just the connection for your AUX input. So just unplug it and leave it hanging and replace it with this! You can use the supplied AUX cord if you still want that option. I was using a Bluetooth receiver plugged into my AUX port for years but hated always having to turn it on and having grounding issues if I was charging it. This fixes those issues!
