Algae Gone in Four Days!!!
The pictures were taken from the day I started using this ionizer. My old one stopped preforming after year and half so I got this one. Just using this only wont solve the problem..you still need to clean the filter and use the pool pump every day, plus vacuum the pool floor and walls often. Then, you have to change copper rods every three months and it’s about $50 for a pair. For now, the only chemicals I use are bleach and pool tablets. I think this is still a very good product and I am happy with the results.

Worked as discribed
Works good.

Wing nut not included
The copper tube, aping, and mesh netting are the perfect size replacement but the wing nut, which is the piece that keeps the ionizer pieces together, was not included. The description says the wing nut is included but I did not receive one.

My pool was cristaline and has gotten cloudy while using this product.
According to the product specs, this Ionizer should introduce a copper level of .4 to .9 ppm in the pool water, which, when combined with the chlorine, it should maintain a pool of up to 35,000 gal in crystaline condition. I have a 17,000 galon pool which was always so clear that could see any foreign matter in the deep end (7 feet) without any issue. 2 weeks after I started using the product, I tested the water and found that the copper level was only 0.1 ppm. I cleaned the unit per the recommendations and gave it more time to see if the copper level would increase. By the 3rd week, the water had begun to get cloudy and a subsequent Cu test proved that it was still 0.1ppm. I have cleaned my filter and added more clorine to no avail, pool is still cloudy. I bought the product because I believe in a green environment (I have solar panels) and thought to have my pool with no or minimum chemicals. I guess I was wrong. BIG disappointment!

Pays for itself
Bought this last year and noticed significant drop in chlorine use. The pool water also stayed clear. Highly recommend putting one in your pool.

Ancient and effective water treatment technique meets modern technology.
I have nearly 20 years of experience working on swimming pools and I have had very positive results when correctly using copper and silver products on them, both in the past and up to the present. Unfortunately though, many pool chemical suppliers do not often stock silver algaecide anymore, which when used along with copper algaecide in a maintenance dose each week is very similar to the working principle behind this ionizer.Supposedly, the reason for silver algaecide becoming more unpopular is that the manufacturing cost for it is much higher than what it is for other commonly used types of algaecide, which makes the profit margin on it much smaller. But, I believe it is also due to the fact that copper and silver can greatly reduce chlorine usage, and if pool companies promote it too much then they can also end up shooting their chlorine sales in the foot. Another reason I see being likely is that many large companies prefer to sell a different type of algaecide that does initially kill off algae very well, but in the process it also adds nitrogen to the pool water, which not only can fertilize future algae growth, but by extension continue to bring in repeat customers as well! (Name and shame: Yellow Out aka Green To Clean)I have been using small maintenance doses of copper and silver algaecide to reduce the chlorine usage in my customers swimming pools for many years, but since as I mentioned previously that silver algaecide is getting harder to find and the price has gone up so much, I have been seeking out other cost effective alternatives lately such as this solar pool ionizer. One quart each of copper and silver algaecide costs around $100 together, and will usually last the average sized pool long enough for one swimming season in ideal circumstances, so if this product can compete at a similar cost and level of effectiveness then I expect it should be worth it in the end.Unfortunately, I could not find any information about how to find replacement anodes or other parts for this product, but I will try to be understanding about supply shortages outside of their control for the time being. However, if this is still an issue by the time that I end up needing them, then I will return to update my review and rating to reflect any further difficulties I may encounter. Since everything looks good so far out of the box, and I am reasonably optimistic that this device should work as expected, I will still feel comfortable enough to start it off with 5 stars for now.Vivlly Solar Pool Ionizer, Cleaner, and Purifier Restores Clear, Chlorine-Free Water, Long Lasting Anode for 35,000 Gallons, Natural Shock for Swimming Areas, Smart Replacement

Definitely reacting, seems to help
I’ve got a fairly large above ground pool and it has been a pain for me to get in a good rhythm concerning adding the correct chemicals consistently. This has seemingly helped me prevent another algae bloom. Unfortunately, I’ve had quite a few because the pump that came with the pool is undersized. I’m planning on replacing the pump but it’s not a cheap endeavor and in the meantime this is helping to prevent the blooms that were almost like clockwork every couple of weeks. This is definitely doing something as I’ve noticed the copper rod being changed to a bluish bunch of gunk. I’ve been cleaning this out weekly and I’m checking the copper levels with 2 sets of strips. I don’t want it too high because it can cause it to turn green and your only option to correct that is to remove water (as I’m aware, at least). Nonetheless, this is seemingly helping me to avoid having to shock the ever-loving sin out of the pool.Pros:Seems to help prevent algaeSaving me money on chemicalsEasy to operateSimple to cleanCons:Not cheapCan turn green if you get too much copper in the pool

Small but works well
I've been using this style of solar ionizer in my pool for a few years. I put this one in my pool on Jan 9, 2022 at the same time I had to replace a larger size one that started to sink. This one seems to be made of sturdier material. The other got brittle being in the sun for only 9 months and sunk.
