ManCoda Start Clips - Universal Hidden Fasteners for Composite Decking (36 Pack, Black)

I was in sticker shock at the price of Trex branded hardware! I am resurfacing a very large deck with Trex. When I totaled up the price of the Trex branded clips, fasteners and screws, I turned to YouTube and Amazon and found these clips and all the other hardware I needed at a fraction of the cost. Saved me hundreds of dollars and the quality is just as good as good as Trex branded hardware. I am a believer in Trex decking and willing to pay for that quality. But their hardware can be matched at a much better price.

This is a knockoff of the Trex edge of deck fastener. The key difference is it's painted instead of given a oxide finish. Looks to resist rust better, but only time will tell. Not a 5 star offering as the Torx star included bit is a joke and all but unusable. Throw it away. If you don't already have a long shank T15 Torx bit, get one. Trex includes one in each bucket of hidden plastic fasteners. Others, I don't know. Enough screws and the bit will deteriorate, so maybe get more at your hardware store.

These clips fit my Dekorators boards perfectly and they have a great amount of spring and flexibility which makes their placement quite forgiving.

They do seem to work. They seemed decent quality. The screws are just like the branded screws. The bit wasn't really useful, too short, so get an extension to make it usable. So, I guess my main complaint was the price. Do a bit of searching and save some money.
