Doesn't bean slice
I have a metal peeler/bean slicer of my Mom's which I used as a little girl to french style string beans for a recipe. I have used it until now. Unfortunately, one of the blades fell out, rendering it unable to do the job I needed. I purchased this peeler/bean slicer for myself and my daughter. I am very disappointed in its performance as a bean slicer. You have to push very hard to get the bean through. Even when it's halfway you are supposed to be able to pull it through the other side, completing to slice the bean for a recipe that calls for French-style string beans. When you attempt to pull it through the string bean breaks in half, I don't use it as a peeler, because I have a perfectly functioning peeler that I use. I purchased this product as a bean slicer only. I am very sorry I did. I did think the one I got for my daughter was dull and that's why it was happening, but mine did the same thing. It is a terrible product. Do not buy.

Hard for my hands to hold
Not very comfortable to hold. The apparatus for French style green beans just tore up the poor veggie

Nice and Sharp!
I am so happy to have a new peeler and bean slicer like my (now) antique beanex. I forgot what a joy it is to have a sharp vegetable peeler. I might have to give one to all my friends who like to cook! ts too soon to make a durability rating for this. I'll let you know in 40 years!

Poor quality, do not buy !
Made of cheap metal - I used it only a few times and the metal on the blade shank cracked and made this unusable. $10 in the trash. Years ago they would have lasted 50 years !

Not worth it
Weirdly textured peeling blade, and the bean cutter is too dull for utility. I'll stick with my regular peeler and use a knife to slice the beans.

This is a good, old-fashioned peeler
This is a good, old-fashioned peeler. I have tried many of the new styles, but you can't improve on this one. I lost one that was 50 years old, and I am happy that this is identical. The peeler swivels, and it takes off a light peel, not too deep. The tip will dig out bad spots. The end will make French-style string beans.

Not what I had hoped for
I purchased this so I could slice green beans and was not successful. I already had a great potato peeler
