Can the nightlight bulb be replaced with a flickering candle bulb? Would look really nice.

Sure! it's great idea, I replaced the small E12 bulbs with RGB bulbs（change different lighting color）you can replace the bulbs you want.

Are the antlers real deer antlers?

No, real antlers are cruel. This is a base made to imitate the shape of antlers, the shape is very realistic, they have a very rustic farmhouse.
