Economical way to enjoy potent yerba mate.
I love yerba mate and I’m trying to wean myself off of energy drinks. I bought this 1 pound+ bag of loose leaf mate and a pack of fillable drawstring tea bags. I’ll probably get 75 to 100 servings from it depending on how I fill the bags. I can barely buy three of the canned mate drinks at the corner store for this price! Upon opening, it was clear that this is fresh and of good quality. It tastes and smells amazing and is not bitter to my pallate. I fill a blank (that’s what I call them) tea bag with a spoonful of mate and steep it upward of 5 minutes in filtered water heated in the electric kettle to about 160F. I add a pinch of brown sugar and I’m on my way! It’s said that mate should generally steep in hot, but not boiling water. The ‘green tea’ or ‘delicate’ settings on my kettle work perfectly. Hot enough to stay warm in my travel mug but not scald myself, and it keeps the tea from becoming bitter. Lower temps also supposedly preserve the good compounds and maximize caffeine release (so ‘they’ say). I’m weirdly excited about this purchase. The tea is good and the wakefulness is far more pronounced than what I get from canned yerba mate drinks, or high sugar energy drinks. Coffee makes me weird and sweaty and unpleasantly manic and can induce what feels like a bloodsugar crash. Yerba mate has always been kind to me even when consuming up to 5 mugs a day (on the rare high end). I try not to have it after late afternoon as it can keep me awake. This is a great way to enjoy yerba mate at a lower cost than buying packs of ready-made tea bags and it’s a WAY better deal than shelling out the daily cost of a pair of canned mate drinks or energy drinks. Get yourself some fillable drawstring tea bags to go with this big bag of tea!

Great price for yerbamate!
I just recently ventured into yerbamate. I use this to make cold brew tea which minimizes the natural bitterness. I add lemon/lime and some sweetener to it for my morning tea. If I’m motivated I will blend it with a mint green tea and the combination tastes divine.A little goes a long way and it packs a serious punch on the caffeine side. While I don’t consume excessive amounts of caffeine, I’m no stranger to it. If you drink too much of this tea though you will be shaking and jittery.Overall, I’m very pleased with this yerbamate. This price is great and it seems to be a nice quality product.

Great Value for Quality Product
Wonderful product, great flavor, fresh, well packaged. I’m a coffee drinker but am now 50/50 - tea one day, coffee the next. Wife bought me a glass tea pot that makes it so easy to enjoy a few cups!

Good Yerba Mate.
This is a good Yerba Mate. It is best to use lower temps for the water around 140F-150F for this one to bring out its subtly sweet profile. Upon the first fill you are hit with the subtle sweetness, something pretty close to honey perhaps. This is a Yerba Mate that I would recommend to people first starting out.

Perfect!
Very delicious and it was shipped carefully so that the leaves did not arrive pulverized into powder like when I ordered Canarias from a different seller.

Clean energy and clarity
This is my first time drinking Yerba Mate and so far I'm happy with my experience. I read up on its benefits and decided to try it for myself. I was hesitant after reading reviews on taste/smell. Not brand specific, just Yerba Mate in general. A lot of people said it's something you have to get use to because it's very bitter, smells like hay, etc. When I opened the bag it does smell like hay like and resembles dried grass, stems, and leaves. I brewed some and decided to take a sip unsweetened just to see what it tasted like. In my opinion, it tastes very similar to regular tea. Some bitterness but nothing crazy. A lot of people add a spoonful of honey to sweeten it. It is not meant to drank quickly. I would recommend doing a little research on the proper way to brew and drink it. I decided to fill a large teabag with it and pour hot water over it in a pitcher. I left the bag in there and poured hot water over it Throughout the day as needed. As mentioned in the title of this review, I felt like this gave me more and longer lasting energy than my usual espresso. I also noticed that I felt less hungry and didn't feel the urge to snack between meals. I don't know if this is a typical side effect but I noticed I haven't been "hangry" since I started drinking it.I'm very happy with my experience so far. I highly recommend giving it a try.
