Can't say enough good things about this fat separator. Works exactly as advertised. Must have when making bone broth, soups or gravies. Can't be without mine. Easy to clean. No leaks. Lightweight and perfect size.

This works MUCH better than the mesh ladle I had been using to separate fat from my home-made stocks. It's a study piece of equipment and is dishwasher safe (I put it on the top shelf.) To optimize the function, I put the separator full of stock into the refrigerator to solidify the fat. That way the fat is on top of the stock, so the stock comes out the bottom of this gadget cleanly.

This has made such a big difference in my gravy. Before I could never get all of the fat. It is such a simple design that works well, easy to use and clean.

Does an excellent job of allowing me to remove much of the fat from foods I cook like lamb shanks in a wine sauce - Braised chicken etc. Quick and easy to use and clean

I've looked at this separator for years, and now that I have it, I wonder why I let myself go so long without it! A must-have for soups, stocks, sauces, and gravy! It’s easy to use and comes apart nicely for easy washing! The time I save using this rather than a traditional spoon or suction is absolutely worth the few seconds it takes to use and wash.

This separator comes ready to use out of the box, with a bonus vegetable peeler. The separator is large and holds a lot of juice. The top strainer is also generous so you can pour right from the pan without having to prestrain. Once the cup is almost full just wait a few minutes for the oil to separate. Then hold the separator over a container or pan and simply press the red button on the top of the handle and the bottom juices flow out. The button can be depressed at various pressures to control the flow. the handle is large and comfortable so its easy to operate with one hand. Releasing the button self-seals the bottom spout and it is leak proof. I have use the traditional low spout design and this is much easier and better. The top strainer pops off for easy cleaning and its dishwasher safe. The peeler is a bonus and it works well and is comfortable.

Works well. Fairly easy to clean. We use it to add some juice back to the meats we smoke.

Not the type of separator I was hoping for, this one is for kitchen use and works quite well with Roast and Turkey drippings, helps make fabulous gravy, which also doesn't help separate me from the fat in my belly. Will have to keep shopping for the right kind of separator, but right now, I'm going to enjoy my open face Hot Turkey sandwich.
