A brilliant collection of 30 years of hard work by the New Model Army. The DVD's included are great to watch and I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

Have to address some of the issues raised... It DOES limit the usefulness of this set for North American fans that the DVDs are PAL formatted, since many DVD players AND TVs in North America can't handle PAL formatting... but some certainly can; the PAL formatting does NOT mean that all North American New Model Army fans are denied access to the video content here. If you've ever played a region-free but European-formatted DVD on your TV and gotten an unwatchable, rolling picture and normal audio, that means your TV is unfriendly to PAL, but your DVD player isn't. Other TVs, built to handle both NTSC and PAL, will play the picture just fine (assuming the DVD player is receptive to PAL, as well). It's really just a matter of knowing what equipment you have - if both your TV and DVD player are PAL-receptive, you'll have no problem with this set......which really does have some great video footage. The NMA's promotional videos are kind of a charming embarrassment, and the bootleg stuff is of predictably variable quality, but the complete concerts included are terrific - especially the 1985 set, from which the widely-seen "No Rest" clip is taken; you get to see THE REST OF THAT CONCERT, which is pretty special. I've just skimmed through the other discs, but they look & sound great. Since everyone with a computer and a full compliment of NMA CDs can make their own greatest hits, there's really not much to be said for the CDs, but the video component of this package makes it a great score, IF you can actually ACCESS it. Maybe you should find out?A final suggestion: rather than blaming the NMA for the limited access North American consumers have for this material, look to the market here. Where (I gather) most European and Asian countries have a wide selection of region-free, NTSC and PAL-friendly tech available, North American DVD and TV manufacturers, existing in a bit of a bubble (reinforced by consumer ignorance) have not followed suit, preferring to control the market by making it harder for consumers to access non-American product. If your TV or DVD player CAN'T handle both NTSC and PAL, it's actually a fair question to ask WHY NOT, and perhaps to do something about that - find the technology that suits your needs. THEN you can buy this box set...

I was so looking forward to this box set, especially the video content, since a lot of their videos are hard to find in the US. Unfortunately, nowhere in the Amazon US listing does it tell you what the video format is for the DVD's. If they are being sold in the North America web portal, one would assume that the DVD's were in NTSC format since that is what 99.9% of the video equipment in North America operates under as a standard. Bad assumption that is.WARNING: The DVD's are in PAL format. If you own a standard DVD player, Blu-Ray player, PS3, or XBOX purchased in North America, you will not be able to play these DVD's on your current equipment.As far as the musical CD content, it seems to all be the standard mixes that you probably already own if you own their back catalog. There are no alternate takes or arrangements or demos. Boo!

Good buy

Ich habe New Model Army irgendwie lange aus den Augen verloren. Nach Impurity hatte ich nichts mehr von New Model Army gehört.Dann kam diese Box raus und mich interessierten vor allem die Live DVD's, da hier so einige Konzerte drauf sind, bei denen ich selber dabei war.Ich werde zwar nie ein NMA Fan sein, aber die Anthology gefällt mir gut, da ich hier so einige Stücke drauf sind die ich nicht kannte und noch nie gehört hatte. Was mir hier fehlt ist 51st state, aber die original CD habe ich sowieso.Volle Empfehlung für die komplette Box.

Great music from a great, if underrated, band. Impossible to condense 30 years of choice onto a double cd, but a good effort.DVD's are excellent, from three full concerts in broadcast quality and promo videos. Bootlegs are of variable quality (obviously) but are generally good and interesting.

30 Jahre und kein bisschen leise.Tolle Konzerte und Videos!!!Die Best of Zusammenstellung mit den komentaren ist super. Alles drauf was man braucht.
