desertcart.com: Each Peach Pear Plum board book: 9780670882786: Ahlberg, Allan, Ahlberg, Janet: Books Review: A wonderful book to read aloud - This book has a rhythm and rhyme to the words that make it fun to read to a pre schooler. The illustrations are a delight and have hidden people in the pictures. This purchase was for a great grandchild because I loved reading it to my children when young. Review: All-time favorite children's book! - This book has a special place in my heart... it was the first book I ever "read" (though really, I had it memorized, and just fooled (or if they weren't fooled, they sure pretended to be!) family and friends by "reading" the book by myself! LOL! And now, I read this book to my daughter almost every night. The poetic rhyme of the book makes it easy for kids to learn and remember. The pictures make the book interesting and fun for young minds. Older toddlers/school-aged children will love to try to find the characters hidden in each picture! The large words help parents and new readers move their fingers along under the words as the children try to learn the new words. Familiar characters help make reading less intimidating. I can't say enough about how truly wonderful this book is, and how much this book meant to me as a child, and how much it means to me now as a parent.

This is an amazing book! My students enjoy it and it keeps them entertained. I have bought it for two of my family members that are having babies as well!

A Gentle Masterpiece
The text is simple rhyming couplets that make it easy for a child to remember, and introducing them to some nursery-rhyme and fairy tail names they’ll hear later on (Tom Thumb, )The illustrations are wonderful, taking you into a gentle, sunny, imaginary world of make-believe and minor problem-solving. Every child I’ve given this book to has loved it.

Great book for a baby gift!
This was my children’s favorite book and I often give it as a baby gift. It has rhyming and nursery rhymes in it to answer “I spy” types of questions.

Wonderful!
I don't know when or how I learned about Each Peach Pear Plum, but I know that I memorized as a child. When my kids were little, I would recite it to them (even though I didn't have a copy of the book), and then we got to the point where I would say the first part of the sentence and they would finish it. Somewhere along the way, I stumbled across a copy of the book so my kids could see that I wasn't completely nuts and this really was how it was read. My kids are all grown up now, but I still buy copies of Each Peach Pear Plum to gift to expecting parents as shower gifts. May their children grow up hearing the rhymes so much that they too can tell you who each character spied.

Fun book - good illustrations and rhymes
This is a great book weaving lots of fairy tale and nursery rhyme characters. The illustrations are fun to point things out in, with lots of things for toddlers to observe. Characters and themes appear in multiple pages, giving lots to talk about beyond the text itself (which is also fun to read).

It's awesome n my son who is 3 Yrs old enjoys reading this very much.. the text is rhyming coz of that he has memorized the book very easily n now rather than me narrating it he has taken over the job of narration.. There are stories within stories.. Ahlberg's books are classics n this lives up to the expectation.. Every child will enjoy finding the hidden figures n the illustration is soothing .. Amazing bed time story.. Must buy in every kid's book collection...

I have this for my 18month old "reader". We love the details in the pictures, so many little things to point out. We like that the words are simple enough and uncluttered to recognize. Lovely introduction to other little story's rhymes within the story.
