Great product. No mess. No fuss. Great idea

Works well some what comfortable

Purchased for caregiver of invalid parent. The gloves are the best, big enough to cover and protect hands. Disposable liners contain all waste materials for easy dumping into the outside garbage container. If your person cannot lift up to get on pan, its suggested to slip a very large paper platter under the body, with the disposable liner over it.

The whole system is brilliant. It saved my life once already. I have IBS (Irritable Bowl Syndrome) and the paranoid and stress it causes me when driving was terrible, always fearing the urge would come on unexpectedly to disastrous consequences. So someone suggested getting a standard hospital bed pan just for peace of mind and keep it in the car. This is the "system" that I got -- with the blue potty unit, the absorbent pads, and the gloves and low and behold, come to find one afternoon while driving, I needed to use it; there was no other option. The trick was to have it already prepared and ready to go. But on top of the unit already prep-ed there are three other IMPORTANT things: -- 1) open a second plastic bag and prop it up near you (for me, that was on the passenger seat) -- yes, I used this system while sitting in the drivers seat. It probably would have been easier in the back seat or even the passenger seat, but in this particular instance, time became Of The Essence, as they say; no time to change seats. -- 2) have a package of Baby Wipes within arms reach; you will definitely need them. -- 3) have a small blanket or something to cover yourself in the event you have pulled over as I did, in a place were people would occasionally walk by. Unless you have tinted windows, you will want to throw something over yourself as obviously, you pants have to be down. BTW I was sure this whole thing wasn't going to work and it would be a disaster -- no doubt is thinking was part of my anxiety and paranoia that I have been living with about this for a long time, but it turned out to be just as easy as the video makes it look. The only caveat is, I wish the depth of the unit were deeper. My fear was that with my fairly fat butt, while the seat section is sturdy enough to hold my body weight, my fear was that my butt might sink down into the basin enough to reach what you never want it to reach. As it turns out, that didn't happen, but I was worried enough that I didn't let myself sit fully on the seat...I held my body's weight up a bit. I figured, why temp disgusting fate, eh? Actually the thing that takes the most dexterity in this whole maneuver, not related to the system 1) getting your pants down and 2) is the wiping. What worked for me was to slide the basin (as I said, already prep-ed) under me, and then raised myself up enough that I could unbuckle the belt and slide the pants down below then knees. For wiping after the deed is done, in addition to the components of the "kit," I suggest along with it, you always have a big package of baby wipes -- they are your best wiping option and the best way to get really clean. Then the tricky part is to raise yourself high enough to wipe yourself and then, whoops, what to do with the used wipes? That's where the second bag is a necessity. Have that bag opened and next to you (for me it was on the passenger seat) so you have a place to discard the used wipes. When you feel you are fully clean, pull the basin out from under you and either pull your pants up, or, what I though was the more immediately pressing issue was to undue the plastic bag around the basin and get as much air out of it before you cinch it tight. Then drop it into the bag already full of used Baby Wipes. Lastly, pull up your pants, compose yourself, man-up and pretend it never happened. Secondary issue now is, what to do with this package of unspeakable stuff. Here in Brooklyn we now have to put compostable material in special containers; what's in the this bag is surely compostable material so for me it's just a matter of dropping in that special container. The cleanup of the basin was as simple as grabbing the ends of the plastic bag that is under it, pulling it up, and cinching the closure tabs. Added plus: once all was said and done and the bag tightly cinched up, no odor escapes the bag, an unexpected nicety. And whereas this review page allows me to upload an image...I think I will spare you that.

Helpful but hard to get on for people with weak legs

Never used, but volume seems very small. Not sure if the user had a big bowl movement, the bm wouldn’t rise out of the bedpan and ends up in contact with the user’s bottoms. That was our concern. Return.

My mom sometimes needs to use a bedtime and this one is of good quality and works well. I had previously bought a smaller and cheaper bed pan (from another vendor) when my sister was bedridden- it was awful! This pan is made of durable plastic and if you’re not going to use it for years, I would recommend it over the more expensive metal versions.Their liners are a must! If you are new to this, make sure to first place the pan downwards into the bag, tie it closed on the outside under the pan and don’t knot it. Just use a bow knot - That way, you just pull the bow tie loose and close the bag around the contents. Once you secure the bag on the bottom (not inside of the pan but on the outside, you can push the bag into the inside of the pan to catch the waste. Oh, and don’t forget to buy the urine absorbers to avoid spilling urine all over. The liners make changing the bedpan so much easier and sanitary. This companies liners work well! No spills and no mess.

The bed pan was the size for a small child! I’m a small man 165 lbs and it was too small for me!!

I don't think this is suitable for the elderly of anyone recovering from surgery. It is hard plastic and about 2" high at the low end. I am sending it back unopened because I don't see how we can use it. Otherwise 5 stars!! Great idea, great price nice to have the full package (not sure why you would need the gloves?) But more of a go'sunder than a bedpan!
