Great lid, be careful of packaging!!
I bought a lid last December and love it! It does get buildup although that’s just from the water from my tanks, the plastic in the back is so smart although not sure which way it’s actually supposed to be lol! It fits amazing, I ordered another one a few months back as well in January and they are both doing great, one cracked but I mean it’s glass so totally my fault, prevents fish from jumping out and does burn and char (I burnt a sharp corner of the plastic part). It’s honestly lightweight but it’s glass so you know. The handle is great and can place it anywhere, I ordered another lid this month but the handle did come in broken, Amazon figured that out right away, amazing customer service! Overall, it’s a high quality lid, and if treated right should last some time!

Great Glass for Customizing
I have a 5 gallon Fluval Chi aquarium that has no top lid, which I despise because of water loss, dust falling in, and fish suicides. Fluval sells their own proprietary lid, but the cost is ridiculous and I don't like the huge cut out square in the middle, nor do I like the boxy brown combo filter/light with the awkward light switch. The cost to get custom glass cut and buying a handle, hinge, and clear backstrip separately is a bit spendy. Therefore, I just bought this combo glass cover and took it to the local glass shop and had them cut it to fit my aquarium. The guy only charged me $5 labor, because I wanted the edges polished so nobody would get cut handling the glass lid. The brown plastic hinge does not slide off the glass, so they have to cut the plastic first before they run their machine to cut the glass. The glass is not tempered and didn't shatter into a million pieces when the guy cut it. Be careful with cutting glass on other brands, until you can verify the glass is not tempered or your gonna waste money when it shatters. Don't forget to cut 4mm of plastic off the bottom side edge hinges, so your glass will lay flat on the aquarium and not be elevated by the brown hinge. The glass fits perfectly on top of the aquarium with a 5mm gap at the back after the clear strip is installed. I went to the hardware store and bought clear plastic L brackets and used Loctite to glue them on the corners of the glass, so the lid doesn't shift around and fall off. I used a angle grinder with metal cutting wheel to cut the back plastic piece to size (that's some tough hard plastic folks) and slid on the back clear piece and custom cut holes to house the Eheim Jager 50 Watt heater, Clamp on LED light, and Azoo Mignon 150 water filter. Now the aquarium looks really nice and streamlined, without that crazy huge brown box hanging in the middle. That filter wasn't very efficient anyways and I like the Azoo filter way better plus my 3 phase LED light is really awesome with the different light patterns. I'm not too fond of the brown handle for this kit, so I'll probably just do without it.

Mine didn't come with instructions or handle. (Update: Cat stole handle.)
EDIT:I found the handle. It fell out of the box when I opened it, and it turns out my sister's cat stashed it behind her cat bed. I only just now, a month later, found it. It's unharmed. She liked the crinkle of the plastic it came in. 🙄 But anyway, the lid works great! Really cut down on evaporation, and is so much simpler than removing the entire hood from the original tank. My betta likes it too, because he can see my hand coming to open the lid and feed him. As for the vinyl, I managed with a craft knife. It's not clean or pretty, but that's my fault. I'm sure Comet(my betta) doesnt mind.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Well, it seems good quality. I didn't receive a handle or instructions, but a simple google search helped me with the instructions. The vinyl is pretty hard and I'm a bit nervous to cut it, and also the edges had those little strings of material, indicative of a fresh cut. Easily removeable though. I don't like that it was shipped in a box four times the size necessary. it WAS packed with bubble wrap, so it's not damaged at all, it's just a waste of material, and probably a hassle for the delivery driver.Over all, it's a solid lid, I just wish I had actually gotten all of the parts. Luckily, I have a magnetic algae scraper that I can use as a makeshift handle. Or just use my nails.

Fine product, very pleased
Nice, simle, crystal clear aquarium top. My favorite, I’m really impressed with how well its packing for shipping being glass. Its a good studier gauge of glass compared to window glass, which is also reassuring. Being a picture framer, i work many years with glass so I appreciate this thickness gradeThe hinge is sturdy and flexible easy to lift with the stick on knob, and the transluce t back strip is easy to push on and cuteasily before mounting for and hang on the back filters, etc, maki g it a nice tight fit to prevent escaping or fish that tend to jump.

Its glass, its a cover, it does what it says it does.
These fit my 55 gallon freshwater perfectly. I had to get two of them, and the size is a bit strange. They list them here as 20", but that just means they FIT a certain size. They come in at slightly less. Either way, they worked perfectly and continue to let light blast into the tank. I have these on my tank with a Finnex Stingray above. I wanted as little in the way of the light as possible, and I got just that. I will say this, as you clean these, you may forget they are glass. Watch what you place them on as you clean them. I pressed a little too hard and a shard of glass came off the corner of one of them as I was cleaning them in the sink. Nothing major, just a tiny sliver of glass that did nothing to the appearance or the function, but still, be careful. Another issue, be careful how you put on the handle. You might be temped to put it on the wrong side. Remember, you want the piece of glass closes to you to lift up, so the plastic joint between the panes of glass must be flat. The joint will be on the bottom, so that you can lift the front pane up.

Works ok but hard to see if fits
It’s works ok and is a reasonable price. However it is hard to see if it will fit according to the description on Amazou. Turns out is works on a 20 gallon tank
